Aspen Extreme [DVD] (1993)

I love this DVD. I've lent so many copies to friends and never got them back, that I had to buy another copy for myself!

I purchased this a while ago but it is an enjoyable film. I previously had it in video format and wanted it as a dvd.

As a fan of Paul Gross this film did not let me down. It has a good story line with humour and sadness, but best of all some great skiing footage! A must for any fans of our favourite 'Canadian Mountie'....!

While I think this film was okay in and of itself, it's probably more suited to die-hard skiers. I bought it for two reasons: I enjoy films based around the less-well-publicised sports -- i.e. anything that's not football (normal), football (American), rugby, basketball, hockey, baseball, cricket, car-racing, golf, and all those other "big business" sports -- and I've been a fan of Paul Gross since I first saw "Due South." As has been pointed out in the other reviews, there is some superb skiing footage. That alone is worth the five quid. As for the rest, well, I also recommend renting this film first to see if it's to your taste.

Gross steals the show, as he invariably does, and this is an enjoyable action adventure movie. Whilst your brain will not be receiving a workout, it will not be checked in at the door either. Its fun, which is all anyone can ask for.

This film is really painful to watch. Implausible plot events, wooden dialogue, bland presentation. I am a *serious* Paul Gross fan but even I must admit this is rubbish. Some excellent ski footage but mostly just cringeworthy poor film-making. If you must see him, borrow or rent it (and make sure you've got something worthwhile to do whilst watching) but do not buy this film.

The bluray was excellent quality for being used. Movie was pretty cool. It’s hard to find this movie nowadays so was very happy it was available on Amazon!

I'm a snowboarder who felt like buying a winter sport movie. It's the end of the 2021-22 season and I didn't get enough time on the hill, just like the last six or so years. I loved this movie and I'm looking forward to watching it again. It wasn't cheesy at all, like I expect the other snow movie I bought at the same time to be. I miss the days of few responsibilities and riding all season - I loved all the sponsor signs and it made me reminisce. I had a good run for 20+ years and hope some day to do it again in retirement! I bought "Used - Very Good" and there were no problems at all. Just buy it!

Il est vrai que cette réalisation bénéficie d'une distribution très chouette, qui met rapidement dans la poche, tout en devenant petit à petit attachante le tout demeurant prenant et assez spectaculaire par moment et sans être trop 'formaté'; Le Blu-ray, d'apparence fort simple, nous accueille avec un menu basique assez laid (images rustiques animées "du film", d'un affreux jaune pisseux délavé) MAIS le visionnage nous rassure instantanément avec une image, pas des plus fine certes, mais bien piquée, colorée et d'un bon relief, en fait sans doute optimum par rapport à la source, et le son, d'une très bonne efficacité, soutient parfaitement l'image et l'action bien entendu. Alors, si vous êtes sensibles au sujet du film, vous ne devriez pas être déçus: réussi, 'bon enfant', de bon goût et sans prétention, un film sympa![à noter que ce Blu-ray import us naturellement en v.o sans sous-titres est 'toutes zones' (et souvent trouvable pour quelques euros)]

昔、レンタルで借りてハマった作品。当時はスキーブームで自分も興じていたのでとても感動する映画でした。ＶＨＳは購入して持っていましたが画像が荒くイマイチでしたが日本版ＤＶＤでの発売が無く諦めていました。最近ではケーブルＴＶで放送されたりしてたのでとても懐かしくて録画もしてました。今回、インポートではありますがＤＶＤを手に入れられたのはとても嬉しいです。２人の親友同士が雄大なアスペンでスキー場のインストラクターとして採用され、住み着くのですが現地で出会うローカルラジオのＤＪと恋愛に落ち、別れ、葛藤の中、ある事故から親友を失ってしまう主人公。苦しみながら新人インストラクターと共に新しくペアを組み、アスペンエクストリームの大会に挑む物語。当時はモーグルブームが始まった時代だったので、エクストリームスキーは見もの間違いなし。スタントなしの滑走シーンはＢ級作品にしては１級品の出来ばいです。脇を固める意外な俳優陣の演技も抜群でとても爽快にまた一気に観きれます。出来れば日本版ＤＶＤを発売して字幕付きで観たいですが、発売を諦めていたＤＶＤなので取りあえず満足。是非とも日本版発売を熱望してます。

I used to have this movie on VHS and didn't think I would ever find it on DVD until I came to this site.
