Contech Scarecrow Outdoor Animal Deterrent

I like this concept and it worked except the sprinkler head would not oscillate. When an object or animal came into view of the sensor the water would spray straight ahead and didn't oscillate so I called the maker to ensure that I set it up correctly and after reviewing my setup I was told that I had a defective product and if I sent them a copy of my purchase receipt they would refund my money. I like how it's supposed to work so I will try another one.

Works great except that sometimes it goes off because of wind, with no animals around. Still, I haven't seen any feral cats around (I bought the unit to scare them away from getting onto my car and scratching the pain and windshield). No holes dug in the ground or wild animal excrement either.

Our problem was a pesky neighborhood cat visiting our patio and leaving his "marks". He was upsetting my 2 housecats. The scarecrow scared off the cat. I have found I have to use it periodically to keep him away. That's ok, I would rather do this than catch someone's pet and have it hauled away.

I love the Contech ScareCrow Outdoor Animal Deterrent. It keeps the deer out of my flowers beds and the vegetable garden. We have 4, however, one is not working properly. So I ordered another one and was sent the Havahart brand in place of the Contech. Did not like it and was not happy that they sent something in place of the Contech. I have since searched for another one and the cheapest one I could find was $159.99. I don't think it is worth that. It looks like Contech is in bankruptcy from the message you get when you call their phone number. I'm very disappointed that I could not find one at a reasonable price. I will keep checking.

I have used these in Colorado to ward off the large population of both deer and rabbits. Then work very well but occasionally one fails. The latest reason for replacement was a dog bit the sprinkler hear and unknowing to me a neighbor tries to fix it but actually botches the unit. As a unit fails I will replace it with the same as I am very pleased not to have deer poop on my lawn.Robert KellerColorado Springs, CO

This product is not sturdy, it broke after a couple months. The motion sensor would pick up movement pretty well but inconsistent. It sputtered more than sprayed and manipulating the nozzle never made a difference. I wrote the manufacturer and got no response.
