Decent product, packaging leaves something to be desired
It's expensive to eat healthy these days, so it's great when a deal like this comes along. At this price point, Hodgson Mill beats most other organic brands by a noticeable margin. Now about the pasta itself:What can one really say about taste and texture that is not entirely subjective? It all depends on personal tastes. I love whole-grain products and am therefore accustomed to the taste but who knows, some people who are not used to it might liken it to cardboard. Texture-wise, if you're cooking it al dente, it is as expected. I don't care what any pretentious 'foodie' says, at the end of the day, there are only so many (useful) ways of describing pasta. And I love pasta. The penne cooks quickly enough and I was rather surprised, having recently developed a habit of obsessively checking the stove every thirty seconds due to what I call the gluten-free mushtastrophe.I like that the pasta contains flaxseed what with the added nutritional benefits and all. That having been said, heat/ radiation -and by association, overcooking- destroys most of said nutrients so keep that in mind when preparing any dish. The only aspect of this product that I can genuinely take issue with is the container. No matter how you open it, large remnants of the adjoining cardboard remains stuck to the inner flap and closing the box remains an inelegant venture to say the least. Still, that's why rubber bands were invented and it's hardly a reason to hold it against the pasta.Happy masticating!

The Best!
This is the best pasta I've ever had! My husband is the opposite of me --Doesn't like healthy food and thinks organic foods are a waste. When I bought a big box of these he was kind of upset because he knew I'd try to get him to eat it. The first time I made them I had to cook two separate pots of pasta (healthy one for me and a nasty one for him). After he heard me raving about these for days afterwards he finally agreed to try some --but half and half with his white pasta. I did that for him once, and since I have started giving him just straight good stuff! Now even he thinks this pasta is great!Normal pasta feels like rubber in comparison to this pasta. I love this pasta and will never go back! It not only tastes good and feels good, but is also so much better for you!

Great for non-egg lukshen kugel
Due to my cholesterol level, i try to keep away from saturated fat and have a preference for whole grains. That meant my lukshen kugel could no longer be made with egg noodles (and the eggs switched for egg-whites). The problem is, most pasta is too thick for it. So, i wanted Angel Hair and whole wheat. Couldn't find that in local stores except one, and that place had it for something like three dollars a box.I came to Amazon and found this and one other brand. I tried this one because it had good reviews, perhaps slightly better than the other, i have used Hodgeson Mills in the past, and i was mildly amused about the flax seed. (There is no good reason as to why i was amused. :)I am quite happy with the outcome. These are easy to break into small pieces, and the kugel is delicious.

There is an odor
I have two issues.First, after boiling the pasta, there is an odor. I wouldn't say it stinks, but it certainly isn't an appetizing odor; I'd say it reminds me of the smell of cardboard I've smelled in warehouses, but imagine tasting it in your mouth as well.Second, my end result doesn't even look as white as it looks in the picture on the box. I've used up three boxes so far.I can't think of what I'm doing wrong, I'm using the Fasta Pasta boiler (which I also bought from Amazon) which has worked wonderfully with spaghetti-sized pasta and other kinds I've tried, but I can't possibly blame it for the cardboard odor I get from this angel hair pasta.

Healthy and Tasty
My father is a Sicilian immigrant and brought me up to be a bit of a pasta snob. I had some very bad luck with any pasta that was not 100% semolina. Most whole wheat pasta I have tried has an off taste and an unpleasant texture. I was blown away by how much I love this pasta. It is the healthiest pasta I have come across and does not require any compromise in taste or texture. It definitely does have a flavor that is different from semolina, but it is subtle and works well with all sauces. I feel very good about feeding this pasta to my two small children.

Very good
We are vegans so are always looking for healthy organic non-animal products. This is great pasta. Cooks fast and is tasty with tomato sauce. Also at other times we cook dried pintos and mix in with pasta with olive oil on top.So good. We live on grains, beans, veggies, fruits, nuts. I don't know any obese vegans, it is not the carbs that are fattening. At $24.00 for 12 boxes, price is right. Would buy again. Recommend.

Good texture and healthier than regular noodles
I remember the day when I tried a whole wheat noodle for the first time (years ago). The kids were not impressed with the texture or taste (kind of like cardboard). Since then we have tried many "healthier noodles". I think this one is the winner. I like the fact it is made with organic whole grains and flax. The texture is good and the taste doesn't overpower or alter anything I put with it. It also freezes well when cooked al dente. When you thaw and reheat it they won't end up like mush (like other noodles do).

Hearty and Healthier, But Formula Change Ruined Them (See UPDATE)
We've been using this for a while now (a few years) and the whole family quite enjoys it. My preschooler eats it without question. I've found the taste of the pasta (which does have a discernible nuttiness) is too overpowering for some of the more delicate pasta sauces (garlic aoli, a la vodka, etc.), but works perfectly in heartier fare, like Bolognese. It's our go-to pasta choice.2014 UPDATE: After years of using, and loving these, Hodgson Mill has recently reformulated and gone to a pennette (mini penne) version of this pasta. Not only is the size less effective at capturing sauce, but the recipe itself has seemed to change and the pasta doesn't cook up evenly. No matter how closely I watch, how often I stir and how much water I boil these in, I'm always left with uncooked pieces while others are overly mushy. Disappointing that they turned a good product into a terrible one.
