A Well Made, Multiple Use Item
Great purchase, but sad that I bought the last one and now these sturdy mats are unavailable. This is vulcanized rubber, making it quite strong. Vulcanized rubber does have a strong odor that fades over time. I set my mat on my deck for about two weeks, where it could air out. I then washed both sides with a mild soapy water followed by good rinsing. You want the dish soap to be ph balanced, meaning a ph of 7.I could not find ph information on the soap containers so I looked it up on the internet. Hopefully this item will become available again as I want to buy another.

Heavy duty - no off gassing
These are heavy duty and protect both my floor and weights without issue. I have no fear of either getting damaged if I drop the weight. As the description states, they are heavy, so don't expect to be moving these around much. I am very sensitive to chemical/petroleum off-gassing of products like paint, floor adhesive, heating oil, etc. But had absolutely no problem with these. And the are in my basement with little ventilation. The only flaw is that the size is not exact, nor the product cut perfectly straight. So lining up multiple mats wasn't perfect, but more than adequate. Very happy with the purchase and protection they offer.

Nice heavy duty mat
I got this mat to use in a medical setting. It's thick, sturdy, and the diamond plating on the bottom makes it very slip resistant. I noticed a review or two mentioning the smell. I let it off gas in a garage for a day before bringing it inside and haven't noticed any problems with odor. Very pleased with this item.

Heavy duty
These mats are heavier than what you'd even see in a gym. Almost zero give in the material, but i would think that would allow for more durability. A little disappointed as i didn't realize there were different size mats. I defaulted to the smallest size, which is unusable to almost all gym purposes. In my head one $35 mat would cover half of my gym floor, but it looks like several $135 mat will be required.

Defective and Worthless
It’s supposed to be something that provides traction but is actually coated with a greasy substance that you can’t get off, so it does the opposite of traction. I can’t use it, it’s garbage.

Great for gym use
I use these under my deadlift station and they are very sturdy. I can drop the weight on it without it bouncing or going through the floor. I also use this on top of plywood to keep the station more rigid.There is no sign of wear after six months of use.

Tough and sturdy
Besides the smell and oily surface the mats are tough, solid and very good shock asorbers. I am using them heavy lifting via deadlifts. No imprints are left from weights lying on them. As I said earlier they are oily so there is a possibility you can slip and fall. Are they worth getting? Yes.
