Fisher Space Bullet Grip Space Pen with Conductive Stylus (BG4/S)

I've owned several "Space Pens" over the years. Apart from the immortality they gained on an episode of Seinfeld, I appreciate that mine have always (and I mean always) write perfrectly. Being left-handed my awkward writing style drags the side of my hand over paper and tends to deposit minuscule amounts of oils on the page. That frequently prevents typical ballpoints from releasing ink when the point encounters the oils. Not so with the Fisher Space Pen. Furthermore, over the years I have NEVER had one leak. Period. Bottom line? It's simply the best ballpoint pen I've ever owned.The stylus version here is especially useful in that it eliminates the need for my fat (and increasing shaky) fingers to operate the touch screen on my smart phone. If you've ever used such styluses you know the tip tends to stiffen and become less reliable over time. Recognizing that, Fisher provides replacement rubber tips for a small fee. Great idea.The only reason I've ever had to replace one is my absent mindedness that leads me to occasionally lose one. The especially sleek shape of the "bullet" version is especially prone to rolling away and disappearing. For that reason it's a good idea to purchase a clip (also available from Fisher) that prevents the pen's escape.

These compact bullet space pens are actually a testament to American stupidity. We spent over 10 million developing this pen to write in zero gravity, upside down, and in extreme conditions in space. In 1960, ten million dollars was a lot of money. The Russians came up with a solution to the same problem: a pencil.But back to this pen. Works in -30F, and 250F, and the ink lasts longer than 2-3 times that of your ordinary ballpoint. It also resists water and oil better, and it's specially formulated to last in extreme conditions, too. And it can fit in the coin pocket of your jeans.The stylus I got because of text messages. Despite having relatively small hands, my fingers don't work so well in sending messages on my cell phone. I have started texting people when I can't reach them with a phone call. That way they can get what I need to tell them at their convenience, and this stylus works really well in composing texts.This pen is not for everyone. But maybe it should be.

I am a big fan of the Fisher Space Pens! When I found out that Fisher made a stylus, I had to get one.I'm pleased with the writing quality of the pen, and the stylus works well on certain touch screens. I mainly used it on my iPad or Android Tablet. Rarely do I use it for my smartphones.The disappointment is with the stylus tip. The black plastic stylus tip was fragile, it ripped off after a couple of weeks. I was really surprised that happened, because I expected more since it was a Fisher Space Pen! Anyhow, the stylus tip are replaceable and you can purchase it through Fisher's website for $5. But the cheapest shipping method is $11 through UPS, you end up paying $17 for a $5 tip!I checked eBay for the stylus tip, fortunately I found a seller who had 10 of them for sale at $5.50 each and free shipping! I bought two just in case the same thing happened again.Overall I like the pen, but wished the stylus tip was more durable.

I got an original space pen over 30 years ago when I was a boy scout and we visited a space themed museum. I pulled it out about 8 months ago and was remembering all the memories associated with it and I also pulled it out of the case to see if it would work. This is the one that looks like a silver bullet. I pulled the cap and touched the ball point to the paper and gave it a stroke and it worked like it was brand new. I never used it because I wanted to save it. The claims that it will write at any angle are so true it will write upside down for a long period of time. Amazing, I buy a pack of Bic pens from Staples and half of them fail or never work. This bad boy is still rolling 30 years after it was assembled,This is the same pen just larger and much heavier, I am assuming it will last as long. I am happy to have this one too.

These Space pens can write anywhere, anytime, upside down, in cold weather, under water (accidentally discovered that when it went thru the wash). The stylus needs some getting used to, but it works fine. I received mine in a timely manner, enclosed in its plastic storage case along with the guarantee. Thank you.

Love the way these space pens write! And this one is no exception.I chose the chrome pen over the powder coated ones, because this pen rides in my pocket with my keys, and I thought the powder coating would get scuffed and marred and not look that good after a time. With this chrome finish, the markings on it just give it character and make it look better and more well used and loved.Not all touch pad styli are created equal! this is one of the better touch screen stylus that I have used, and I have used allot of them. This one is very responsive and doesn't jump or stutter across the screen when dragging the tip across your screen.

And now a stylus, whaaaat?? Be still my beating heart! I own 6 of these dandies, but this is my first go with the stylus/pen. I am loving it right out of the box. It's sturdy and a bit heavier than it's classic compatriots, but love how the cap stays on when not in use and in use. Easy grip, smooth writing. We'll see how this one carries in my pocket.

Ich brauche einen Kugelschreiber, der immer schreibt und den ich in der Hosentasche herumtragen kann. Beides ist beim Space Pen der Fall. Besonders positiv finde ich, dass der Lack weitaus besser hält, als ich erwartet habe und als ich von anderen Mini-Kulis gewohnt bin. Ich habe das Ding immer mit Einkaufswagenmünze (aus Metall) und USB-Sticks in der Hosentasche und der Kuli sieht immer noch aus, wie am ersten Tag. Beeindruckend.Für mich als Geocacher kommt es allerdings hauptsächlich auf die Funktion an. Die zu beschriftenden Zettel und Büchlein sind oft feucht bis nass und man ist bei Regen, Hitze und Kälte unterwegs. Diese Hürden nimmt der Space Pen immer problemlos.Die Gummispitze habe ich ursprünglich für eine gute Idee gehalten, benutze sie aber nun doch eigentlich nie. Dafür kann der Stift jedoch nichts - funktionieren tut die Smpartphonebedienung damit jedenfalls einwandfrei.Einzig die Tatsache, dass der Stift manchmal (selten) etwas schmiert, lässt mich ein Pünktchen abziehen. Damit kann ich aber gut leben. Besser so, als bei einem spontanen Cachefund plötzlich ohne was zu Schreiben dazustehen.

Endlich mal ein Stift für die <Hosentasche, der für das Hnady (Gummiteil) als auch für schriftliche Aufzeichnungen (Schreibstift mit Fisher Spacemine.Sehr gute Verarbeitung.Was die Frage " Durchsichtigkeit" soll, erschließt sich mir nicht.
