It has a 5.1:1 retrieve that helps to work lures effectively and has the speed to retrieve a lure quickly to recast over showing fish. The line lay has been designed to effectively store both braid and mono lines, this consistent line lay helps with more efficient casting. The drag is powerful and smooth, in testing it has coped with bass right up to smoothhound and blue sharks without a problem.
