Great for Personal Computing and Light gaming, handles Games like Civilization Well (UPDATE)
UPDATE AT ENDOverall it was a good purchase and easy to contact the seller. I did a quick SSD Upgrade to the NVMe M.2 970 Evo Plus from Samsung. I did dislike that the OS (Windows 10) was installed on the HDD, I used Macrium Reflect to clone it to the 970, everything sped up immensely since the HDD just hogs down the computer. I did have to update the drivers manually, and when opening the laptop to upgrade the storage to SSD I also, unfortunately, did something to my speakers and they no longer function(though they were great when they did work).BATTERYBattery life is about 2 hours under heavy gaming or processingWord processing or web browsing it’s approx 5-6 hours depending on your screen and power-saving settings.SCREENHigh res, bright colors. It’s not the most phenomenal screen I’ve ever seen but it’s very good, a concrete upgrade from Asus's previous screens from 2015/16.CPU/GPULove the CPU and GPU combo, low enough power consumption under light use. Powerful enough that I have no trouble with any normal processes and whilst gaming everything was very fast on Civ 6 with high quality. In conclusion.I would say it’s a great laptop for the average college student who is into light gaming and needs a laptop that will stay up to par for at least 2-3 years. Star knocked for the speakers abruptly dying on me, drivers, and HDD install of windows. After around 3 weeks of trying to work with ASUS, the Seller, and NVIDIA I was unable to fix the Audio issues, and Miracast does not work when it should on this device. no fault of the seller but for sure the product must have been a dud, and quality control/testing was not upheld.

Superfast and very responsive
I used the system for just over a month and I am very impressed by its ease of use, very responsive keyboard and the speed at which everyday tasks can be handled. The layout of the keyboard might be something to get used to as the right arrow forms part of the number pad and causes frequent errors. Also, the "end" key doubles with the number 1 key and the num lock must be switched off in order to use the end key. A major frustration is the lack of a light for caps lock, causing frequent errors with capital letters and vice versa. The fan seems to make a noise especially when the shift - and fn keys are used. Do not rely too much on the tracking pad as it does not respond as well as expected. Otherwise it is a fantastic system and I can recommend it without further reservation. Packaging was a disappointment as the original box was placed in a box much too big and no material was added to prevent movement inside the larger box. Delivery, however was super fast - 7 days for rural RSA.

Good machine
I have ordered DELL laptops for nearly 2 decades. (My 1st laptop was a used Micron). That machine was passed on to a niece in college. I still have my 1st DELL. Still working fine, just too old for Windows 10. 2nd DELL is passed to husband whose "new" Lenovo died after 1 year of service. Bought this ASUS because Daughter-in-law likes hers AND it has a 17 inch screen. DELL would have been more expensive. ASUS is very good. Very responsive, Love the screen.

A very nice laptop system
Everything is as advertised so there are no disappointments with this system. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is a matter if personal taste. I still prefer my system to have an optical media drive. I'll be connecting an external blueray drive to read/write DVD and Blueray discs.

Always check all the lights and ports.
I got this computer even sooner than expected, but, sadly there was a problem with the keyboard backlight flex and the usb/audio/sdcard reader/state led lights (wich are all in the same card) flex, I had to open it to fix and reconnect them, otherwise the computer it's just like promised on the ad. It has a little sound when running games, but nothing to be worried or annoyed about.

Great Laptop
The laptop I purchased had exactly what I wanted. It works perfectly and it’s not noticeable that it’s refurbished. It was delivered fast and packaged very well. I’m pleased with the seller and the purchase.

Great Reconditioned Laptop!
I bought this as a reconditioned laptop. It is wonderfully fast and is in great shape. I would highly recommend buying reconditioned laptops from Amazon.

issues with the ethernet port hardware
I like the big screen, relatively light, great resolution. What I didn't like is the fact that I had to have it replaced twice when I purchased because the WIFI connection didn't work. Since the second replacement it worked fine, however the ethernet port clip fell off. Piece of plastic that drops down when you plugin your ethernet cable. It's poorly design with a weak piece of plastic for something that needs to be sturdy. I bought the extended warranty, but can't even send it in to get fixed because I will have no laptop to use in the meantime.
