Timberland Men's EK Crawley Fisherman Gladiator Sandal

I bought three fisherman sandals to try and kept this one. Timberland is good quality leather and construction, and the sandal is rugged enough for hiking around, but they really let me down, which is why it is a 4-star rating. Still, although not entirely satisfactory, it's the best of the lot on Amazon under $200. It weighs almost nothing and is comfortable for long walks, and the instep is high enough for those of us with that slightly out-of-normal foot architecture.I have two complaints: the neoprene-type lining makes the foot a little hot, and the footbed is not removable, so eventually the sandals will become smelly after lengthy wearing barefoot. I wish they had made a simple, all leather sandal with a washable removable insole - BUT NO ONE DOES, for a fisherman sandal at least, so it's almost not a fair criticism. Why Why Why, Timberland, didn't you make a removable footbed so that the product really supports long-term use? Anyway, it's the best fisherman sandal I've found so far at this price point. Not a glowing review, but I am sending a probably hopeless cry out to Timberland to take the design a step further.

I bought these for a recent trip to Maui, and they were great. They are very comfortable to walk in and, unlike some other sandals I tried, had good traction/grip. They are not super light, but certainly not as heavy as my regular tennis shoes. I did develop a slight blister where my left toe rubbed oddly on a piece of the leather, but this didn't happen until I wore them into the ocean (which I'm sure isn't great for the shoes). So, I don't blame the shoes, I blame salt-water and sand (which is unavoidable on Maui). The only "complaint" is that these are not quick shoes. It takes time to put them on and take them off. They stay on very well, but the strap has to nearly be pulled from the buckle to get your foot into it. Messing with the strap made these a little tedious to get on and off; plus it increased the amount of contact that you had with the shoe (so I got a good bit more sand on my hands). I think I would consider a slip-on next time for Maui only because the shoes are constantly on/off due to all the beach activities. If you're getting these to wear around all day, they'll be great.

ordering typical size (9), they were quite narrow, ordered size 10, and fits well (a bit long) but VERY comfortable and well made !!

They are a nice looking shoe, but the issue is the elastic strap that is supposed to provide width. The strap, after time, has a tendency to dig into the side your foot creating discomfort. I still plan on wearing them, but would be much happier if they were wider. The sole and support are excellent, and the reason why I still plan on using the sandal in moderation.

Usually a 10 fits me but occasionally I need a 10 1/2. I ordered 10 and it did not fit. Pushed on my big toe. I did not like that the inner sole was a kind of foam that would absorb moisture, as I sometimes wear sandals in the rain, so I sent them back. The soles and heals were okay and would be good for long walks I think.

I bought a 12M but this one is a bit tight and short compared with my other 12M sandals. However, it is comfortable and I hope it will "settle in" with use.

Great shoes for the price. Wore them all day right out of the box with no problems. Very comfortable.
