Great shoes for platform pedals
I'd been looking for a better shoe for my daily commute to work for about a year now. I'd just been wearing my New Balance running shoes but since I walk about three miles a day in them the soft soles had worn down quite a bit and were slipping even on my MKS Grip King pedals. These shoes have a nice hard sole but still let me feel the pedal and the nubby bottoms mesh with my pedals to the point where I have to try to slip my feet off while riding. Very sticky, even in wet weather which is what I ride in about 8 months out of the year.Tonight it was raining and the streets were wet but I didn't feel like putting on my shoe covers so I decided to test them in a little rain. 20 minutes later I was home and my socks were dry and the shoes only felt a little wet despite a steady light rain and streets and bike trails covered with puddles. I'm not sure these were designed for that much moisture but they held up tremendously. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea for me to get some water repellant for these anyway. Finally, my old running shoes with their mesh tops let in lots of cold air so I had to wear shoes covers when the temps hovered near freezing even if it wasn't raining. I've worn these on cold mornings so far a couple of times this fall and my toes have stayed warm.EDIT - January 4, 2013We've had two days now where I've ridden to work wearing these with the temperature between 22-24 F and my toes never got cold. Great all-season shoes.

five ten sputfire
the five ten spitfire shoe is a great shoe with sticky rubber, a tough build and a higher ankel support than your average shoe. This shoe is great for slacklining, bmx, skating, and downhill mtb. Overall a great shoe from five ten.

Great 5-10 mountain bike shoe
These are very nice riding 5-10's. I was specifically looking for mid height shoes in black. The spitfire was fortunately available in my size. Extremely happy with the look, performance and the price. Thank-you.

A little tight but everything else is great
i fit 8.5 in most of all my shoes so i ordered these in 8.5, but these seemed to be too tight i usually wear thicker socks for a more snug fit, but now i just wear thinner socks problem solved. also the shoes do scuff so be careful wear you wear them, and they sound like clogs, but for me not really important. The laces are really long so be mindful when riding, they got caught in the chain ring once so i would say swap the laces. I did specially after they frayed a little. On to the good things; the shoes are great for their intended use, they stick to the pedals especially when i take off a jump or taking sharp turns, even when they are soaked! Surprisingly they are even good when climbing up a hill while pushing the bike [i ride downhill primarily] Great thing as well is that they clean off very well slap them together and kick a curb and your good to go. I have ridden them in hot and cold weather and so far they are extremely comfortable either way.even with some of the minor issues i say 4 stars is adequate, they perform as they should and even better it's just some minor details that affected my rating, but were not that a big of a deal to me.all in all i would recommend these to avid MTB bikers but i suggest GOING UP A SIZE.

Stick to my pedals AND they look good!
Love these shoes. Five Ten's Stealth sole is the perfect thing for riding flat pedals on a mountain bike. Great arch support too. I'm careful where I wear them off my bike, though, as the soles are very prone to marking floors, and the marks they make are unusually difficult to remove.

Fantastic shoes
These are some of the best shoes I have ever owned. On a bicycle, they grip platforms with spikes almost as well as clip in pedals. They grip my flat platform pedals on my townie too. The are super comfortable as walk about shoes. The best thing about these shoes is the depth and insole. I wear orthopedic inserts, so I usually take the insole out and replace them with my inserts. Most shoes are not designed for this. These 5-10s seem like they were made to take orthopedic inserts. I'm not sure how comfortable they would be otherwise, but I liked these so much I bought a second pair for future use.

Eyecatching
I don't cycle first of all. I saw these shoes and just had to have them. I like to buy shoes with completely black soles so that they don't show dirt and wear. There are a couple of interesting things about these shoes I wasn't expecting. First they are made in Korea and second the tongue is connected internally on both sides by a large elastic band to the insole. Not sure what the function of this is, but it seems very well-made. I'm not crazy about the laces because they are synthetic flat laces and tend to wrinkle and twist. But of course I'm only interested in them for the look, not the function. It took about a week of wearing them for a couple hours a day to break them in enough to the point that they hugged my feet without sliding up and down. Very happy sneakerhead.
