Airtex E2000 Electric Fuel Pump

Warning: I am recommending using this pump for other than its intended use.I put this pump on my 79 Jeep CJ7 which I have modified with a 4.7l fuel-injected engine. I have the stock fuel tank, so no in-tank pump. I mounted the Airtex E2000 on the right frame rail just in front of the rear tire. It is attached with plumbers strap. I used 3/4" fuel injection hose for inlet then braided steel from the pump to the pressure regulator on the engine. It has worked very well now for two years including some serious wheeling.Nice thing about this pump is that it's cheap enough that I carry a spare and its available at any Autozone. It maintains solid fuel pressure and has no overheated in this application. I would caution that fuel injection is high pressure and you need to pay attention. A fuel leak after the pump will quickly progress to a fire.

Great product and company. Ordered this fuel pump for my 86 ford and amazon had it here within a few days. Got on YouTube and followed Airtex’s easy to follow instructional videos which they have for multiple parts and makes. And had it on within a half hour and truck back on the road. Came with everything I needed. Highly recommend

Works well, feels very solid. Maybe just me, but I initially installed it backwards, since I couldn't see a flow direction arrow. Our application was as an externally-added pump for a surge tank, not a replacement. For the record, the flow is towards the end with the power terminals.

I bought one fuel pump and while tring to install it one of the terminals broke off. That should have clued me in to the build quality, but i returned it for a new one. I installed the new one and inside of 2 months and maybe 1000 miles, the 2nd one quit working. Don't waste your time or money, get a good brand.

I put this pump on my Ford 351 when I rebuilt the motor. I had a stumbling issue that I could not figure out. I installed two fuel gauges, one before and one after this pump, trying to figure out my issue. The first pump I tried got so hot to the touch, that I believe it was boiling the fuel. I have a feeder pump for this and it is supplying enough pressure and volume. So Amazon sent me another pump and upon install, one of the screw terminals for the electrical connect broke off with little more than hand tightening. Amazon's great customer service let me return the second pump for refund. I turned around and bought a Bosch 69100, which initially seems to have solved my problems, but more testing is required. The Bosch is as close to OEM is you can get.

This pump was recommended by Howell, a company that made my TBI kit for my Jeep CJ5. I'm happy with the built quality, and its working so far. Time will tell I guess.

I used it inline on my 1999 Chevy suburban instead of replacing the in tank pump which had become weak. Works like a champ. However if you're planning to do a similar mod contact Airtex they have another kit that comes with the correct fittings right in the box.
