Product arrived as promised. I didn't get a chance to use my saw as soon as I wanted to so it was 6 weeks before I went to use it. The battery wouldn't work and I was past the Amazon return date, so I called Earthwise and was connected to a rep at American Lawn Mower Co. He knew that the battery needed to be replaced and he sent me a replacement battery for free. Works great!!!!

A have an apple tree which has limbs that grow and block my solar panels. I'm not too comfortable on a ladder so I bought this to help deal with them. I chose this brand because I already have an Earthwise cordless string trimmer and it uses the same battery. It's a great saw. When it arrived I wanted to use it right away but had no oil. The convenience store close to me only had SAE30 oil but my research showed it was a suitable replacement for the 5W30 that was suggested. There was a little confusion as to how to mount the chain. People could have easily mounted it the wrong way and maybe the bad reviews were caused by that?Anyway it worked like a charm. Cuts quickly even branches that were four inches around. In just a few minutes I got the limbs blocking the sunlight from my solar panels off and even used the saw to chop the limbs down to fit in the yard debris bin. The pole-saw is a little heavy but if you use the weight of the saw by leaning it on top of the branch the weight of it actually helps in the cutting. You have to remember to keep the chain tight but it isn't difficult. Even my neighbor was able to use it to trim some high hedges and she is usually afraid of power tools.I knocked one star off because it can only be used as a pole saw. It seems with just a few modifications it could have served as a regular cordless chainsaw as well.

Battery life is way better than even stated in the directions trimmed 4 pickup loads of brush and there is still battery life left

This saw cuts well for a battery powered chainsaw and handles easily. Granted it doesn't have the speed of a gas powered saw, but that's the trade off for the light weight and battery power, and it does get the job done. The only thing I would recommend as an improvement is to make the pole collapse more than a foot so that the storage length is shorter.

I ordered this unit on Amazon on 6/3/20. It arrived a couple of days later, but when I assembled it the battery would not charge. Per Amazon's instructions, I called the supplier (American Lawn Mower) on 6/8/20 who said they would mail an new battery. Three days later, I received an e-mail stating the new battery was on back order. Having received nothing by 6/28/20, I chased American Lawn Mower but have heard nothing at all back. It is now past the date of return to Amazon, and I am left with a brand-new useless piece of $100 junk. Hence this review...

It works, but is very heavy and not very long. It will do in a pinch but we didn't get the use out of it we expected for the cost. Not something you can use while on a ladder, very heavy and unsafe.

For the money this can't be beat. I love everything about this saw except the ability to shorten or extend even further. The 10 inch bar and 24 volt battery is the only way to go. Any smaller would be silly. I had read reviews about the battery life being poor. I have found that if you CHARGE it correctly the first time you get all the cutting you could do before you get tired yourself. And then it only takes a little over an hour to fully charge again. It's perfect.

Did not think it was going to be strong enough, however it works perfect for cutting palm trees. The battery lasts long since I used it for about 30 palms and still had more than half left. You do need to get oil for the chain. Does not come with a small bottle or anything

Wasn’t sure if a 24 volt battery would have the power needed for the pole saw to cut a heavy branch. No problem cutting through a 5 inch branch. Lots of power and didn’t bog down. Cut branches for about 20 minutes and then did clean up. No sure how long battery would last but had lots of power left when I finished.

First use yesterday so no comment on longevity. But I can say it is a powerful little beast and the battery kept pace with a full afternoon of work limbing oak, ash and maple.The negative is that it is very top heavy and the shoulder strap is not particularly helpful. Would be better if a pad were supplied to cushion the battery pack against your thigh/body.Ability to remove saw from pole and attach directly to battery would be a huge increase in utility. I needed to cart my regular chainsaw with me for easy cutting up of limbs.Overall it does exactly what is claimed and does it well with very good battery life.
