this axle is 29.5" long.it will need the two needle bearings and two new 7/16-14 lock nuts. i'm repairing this for a friend. the axle was worn in too.its a lawnaire V, model # 544883A.i thought I needed a longer axle, due to the damage done to the machine.the axle holes have been worn out to a figure eight and the axle supports are splayed out to make you (me) think I needed a longer shaft. axle is 5/8 in center area ,ends are turned down to close to 7/16. the bearings go in the tine tube ends. if your unit is as worn as mine you may have to weld or over size drill and put a bushing in the axle hole area on the machine.sorry I don't know the tech names for all this.
