Life changer!
I've had the bike for a few weeks and my thoughts are as follows: well-constructed, great design (really cool), great (great!) brakes, good speed, and a total killer of the hills that used to exhaust me on my daily commute with my non-electric Breezer. I'm a bit heavier - 225 lbs. - and have found that the battery does drain a bit faster than I expected, but I figure that's why it's rechargeable. I also agree that it is not quite as fast for me as advertised as the latest review pointed out, but it seems to me that this is more of a function of my weight than anything else. I reached out to FLX customer service to ask a few questions and they immediately responded each time. Overall I would consider submitting a five-star review here but the pedals are rubbish (why they went with these I have no clue) - when you order this order a set of new aluminum pedals for $20 as well, especially if you like the reflectors to stay on more than a day or two, because the ones they send you will be goners in no time. Also the rear rack requires a special pannier that I can't seem to find, and FLX customer service says is on the way. But these are very minor issues. Overall this bike has been a life changer for me and my commute, and I love it.

Expensive but amazing and awesome
Expensive but amazing and awesome. Compared to other high quality electric bikes, really not that expensive at all. Looks great, rides great, completely satisfied. Wish the display mount was easily removable for security reasons when locking it up somewhere, but I knew it wasn't before I bought it.

Fun bike
**Update 6/4/18** The issue with my bike appears to be an issue with the first generation bikes requiring regular bolt tightening to maintain the engine placement. I don't think this is an issue with the current generation FLX, though my lesson learned is find out what maintenance your bike needs and do it. :) Also, I received a new contact from FLX who was dismayed by the customer service I had received and despite the bike being out of warranty has offered to ship a new motor and instructions for installation. THAT is exactly the customer service I thought I would have gotten from FLX and its a relief to know that the disregard from the prior rep was out of line with the company. This is a 10 star bike, and I have increased the rating to reflect both the bike and the customer service that the company intends. Thank you FLX for following up and helping me to ride again!I was an early adopter of FLX when this company was still fund raising on indigogo. I didnt mind the wait and knew there would be kinks to work out in a new product. When my bike finally arrived (times 2 because my husband also got one) i was ecstatic. I LOVED it. Then, very shortly after it my life took some difficult turns and I had to set aside my bike (my son needed brain surgery, we moved twice, change in jobs and period of unemployment, etc). When our life settled again a few months ago, we pulled the bikes out of the garage and turned to riding. IN just a couple months my mileage on the bike went from 60 total miles ridden to 148 miles and then the engine became weak during a ride and then completely stopped working on a hill. Turns out the engine was backing out of the hub (a known problem I didnt know about). I contacted flx and was told that i had failed to maintain the bike by not tightening the bolts under the hub. I told them that an avid bike commuter could put on more miles than my bike has in a single WEEK. FLX response was that the engine likely rotated in the hub and severed the wire and I should go find an electrician to fix it. I paid $1800 for my bike (including accessories) and got a whopping 146 miles out of it and no support or warranty because they based the warranty on time instead of mileage.FWIW, when my bike stopped working I took it to a bike shop right away and the bike tech told me that most start up bike manufacturers wont stand behind their product. I told him he was likely right, but that I thought FLX would back their product. I told him they really seemed to care about putting out a great product. I just cant express how disappointing it is to support a company and have it not stand behind its manufacturing..especially in this price bracket. I was wrong. Before this issue and failure of the company I raved about flx and told everyone about them. Everyone asked me about my bike and I loved telling them how much I loved it and how it allowed me to more capably bring my 3 yo disabled son in tow on long bike rides (thats a lot of weight on a non-assistive bike). I wish I was still riding, I wish the company would do the right thing for their customers (turns out this engine moevement has happened to many FLX buyers), and I wish I could still rave about my bike.

Bike is not worth the price tag.
I bought my FLX Roadster 5 month ago, I will tell you if I buy another new ebike, I will not buy FLX bike again. For starter the front brake rotor was bent right out of the box when I first got it, the bike top speed max out at 20 mph NOT 28 mph as advertised, battery life last barely a little over 20 mile per charge, and recently I found my front wheel had flat tire which later I had my bike mechanic looked at it, turned out the tire was fine but the rim strip was punctured due to very cheap quality rubber strip was used which each time I inflated my tire it caused pressure on strip through each hole on the rim which sooner or later the pressure will caused strip to punctured through one of hole on the rim. There is also a couple of minor flaws about battery and LCD display. The battery had battery indicator button that show 4 bar, even when battery at 50% it still showed full bar only when it drop down below 30% then it show 3 bar so battery read out is not accurate and there is no way to change to time format on the LCD screen, it will only show the time in 24 hour format.

Biking more efficiently
So far I love this bike. It's great as a non electric bicycle, but it's an extremely fun electric bike. I was comfortably cruising up hills that normally make me work.My favorite part about it is that I still have to work. It doesn't feel unnatural. It simply makes biking more efficient. I highly recommend this to people that want to commute, but don't want to hate biking on their way home from work.
