DO A CLEAN INSTALL
I have been using Quicken since practically day one. It has been a work horse for me, but has always had issues. Does not follow certain Windows conventions acts slow at times and has always been buggy. With some trepidation I decided to go from RPM 2017 to Home and Business 2018. I did a clean install though. It has been my past experience that Quicken does not "upgrade" well. So, backup your data, uninstall every trace of Quicken and clean out the Registry of any trace of Quicken. I use Revo Uninstaller. Then install your new Quicken. So far I have had no issues other than Quicken still a little slower than I like, but faster than before. Quicken update worked fine and entries were easily saved in to register. Hopefully it will not start bogging down as been my previous experience. I think the key here is to do a clean install though. Smooth Download, Easy Setup and Start. 10 year User.
Had to Purchase the download to work on my taxes, since my 2015 Q would not download my banking transactions. The download was smooth, I updated program before I got started. It imported my old info smoothly. I'll update to 5 stars after taxes are done. I've used the business version for 10 years love it! I can sort all my transactions for my Schedule C tax form since i do my own taxes Quicken has been valuable.

Guaranteed issue with every update.
I've been using Quicken for nearly 20 years. Being forced to update and to pay way more for a product left a bad taste in my mouth but I have a business to run. Since this new version came out, every update introduces a new issue, from missing buttons or a bank that no long downloads. At one point, I couldn't update my main debit card account (PayPal) for 4 weeks and I was never able to get any help from "support".I bought a 27-month subscription so that I will have time to find a more reliable replacement in plenty of time.

Features: there is unfortunately no competion for Home and Business.
Have used it since its inception. Yes it has always had a few bugs in it and support in the past has been terrible. I can't speak for the new subscription model as I have not needed any support yet. I use home and business edition and no other program fits my needs. I upgraded from 2017 with no problems.

This is in every way a terrible product
Update as of Dec 12, 2019. After updating to Windows 10 from Windows 7 quicken no longer will perform a one step update for online accounts. It just freezes. After hours on the phone with their help center they acknowledged this is a problem and did not find a solution.I have been using Quicken since the beginning of time. My 2015 Home and Business stopped downloading accounts via one step update and after digging around I figured this feature expired as it was good for 3 years only. I had received no notice from Intuit - one step update just stopped working. OK, so another forced update. But now Quicken is a costly subscription service. And, the updated software is identical to the three year old version - no improvements whatsoever at least for what I use it for, which is pretty extensive. If anything, the visual aspect is worse. And, I still couldn't update online banking accounts even though my data was supposed to seamlessly transfer to this "upgrade". I literally had to spend a day troubleshooting and finally deleted and re-setup each account for online updating. The accounts were there, and showed online connections, but they wouldn't update. The Quicken help screen on this was word for word identical and as useless as the one in the 2015 version and I wonder now if I could have stuck with the old version and gone through this procedure to restore online services. Probably not, but try this before you buy the new version.A lot of people gripe about Quicken and for good reason. Over the years I have found it to be extremely buggy and support is non existent. The online community is where the problems get solved, not through Quicken support services. And though it is a useful product, the requirement to upgrade to use online banking services is unreasonable if the upgrade doesn't include any real improvements. The main issue is there is simply no competition, and Intuit has no incentive to improve as they know once you have invested hundreds of hours setting up this kind of banking system you are not going to change. I strongly recommend anyone setting up online banking should try another way other than Quicken. Maybe there is something else out there.

Best Quicken in 20 years!
I've used various iterations of Quicken since the early 1990s. Some have been OK, some horrible, and some great. I have to say that my experience with the newest version is atypical in that I loved it. Everything works for me. The days of "owning" software are really over, so I don't mind the new pricing structure, that's the way it is. If you want a product to keep up on development you have to pay for it. Like I said everything works from check register to online bills. I don't think many would have a larger data file than mine but that was no problem. I don't know if it will work for you, but for me it is the best version in 20 years!

I was very hesitant to purchase this product after reading the reviews. I went ahead and pulled the trigger and couldn't be more happy. The install was smooth. The program runs lighter and seems to take less system resources. With regards to the subscription price, I am ok with it. When I look back at the value that I have received from this program relative over time. I would gladly pay the membership fee as long as it remains reasonable. I have looked at other online programs as substitutes. Nothing else compares at this time. Until then, I am going with it.

Don’t Buy
I went through the expense of upgrading from my perfectly functional 2017 version in order to get the Bill Pay service. After over a week it is still not functioning because Quicken has not “approved” the account yet. The call center informed me it normally takes 2 business days to “approve” the accounts but they are so “overwhelmed by the volume that they can’t keep up”. Don’t buy this product.Any company that release a product or service and does not staff to perform the service they are selling is not an honest and good company. They are basically hustling for money and not performing. If I could I would rollback to 2017 and get a refund, unfortunately for me that is not an option. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
