LTE technology is capable of delivering mobile broadband speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G. Additionally, LTE technology offers a faster response time due to lower latency--the processing time it takes to move data through a network--vastly speeding download times for web pages as well as improving services such as mobile gaming and two-way video calling.By the end of 2011, AT&T plans to launch its 4G LTE network in 15 major metropolitan areas, covering at least 70 million Americans. Coverage will continue to expand in the next few years and is planned to be largely complete by the end of 2013.And when combined with 4G HSPA+ technology, AT&T is capable of delivering a quicker, more consistent mobile broadband experience than ever before. AT&T has deployed HSPA+ to virtually 100 percent of its mobile broadband network, which enables 4G speeds when combined with enhanced backhaul (via Ethernet or fiber). Backhaul is one of the major pieces of a telecommunications network. Think of it as the limbs connecting AT&T's cell towers with AT&T's backbone network that provides access to the Internet. Tech TalkLTE = Long Term Evolution Advanced wireless technology capable of increasing AT&T's already-fast network speeds. Now in select markets with deployment ongoing. HSPA+ = High Speed Packet Access Paired with enhanced backhaul--the accelerated pipeline between our network backbone and cell towers across the country--this technology boosts network performance. Android Ice Cream Sandwich Operating SystemThe Galaxy S III runs the Android 4.0 operating system (dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich), which adds powerful new ways of communicating and sharing while improving on the best Android features: easy multitasking, rich notifications, customizable home screens, resizable widgets, and more. The new Ice Cream Sandwich interface features an onscreen navigation bar that replaces the hardware buttons for Back, Home, and Menu found with older Android-powered phones. And with Google+ integration, you can video chat with groups of up to 9 friends as well as easily upload and share photos and videos. Other features include:Face Unlock You can now unlock your phone with just your face using the Face Unlock option. It takes advantage of the front-facing camera and state-of-the-art facial recognition technology to register a face during setup and then to recognize it again when unlocking the device. Just hold your phone in front of your face to unlock (or use a backup PIN). And the lock screen now lets you do more without unlocking. From the slide lock screen, you can jump directly to the camera for a picture or pull down the notifications window to check for messages. When listening to music, you can even manage music tracks and see album art. Home Screen Folders Quickly access related apps right from the home screen by organizing apps and shortcuts into folders--just drag one app onto another to create a folder.Multitasking Multitasking is even easier and more visual in Android 4.0. The Recent Apps button lets you jump instantly from one task to another using the list in the System Bar. The list pops up to show thumbnail images of apps used recently--tapping a thumbnail switches to the app. Voice Input The new voice engine in Android 4.0 lets you dictate the text you want, for as long as you want, using the language you want. You can speak continuously for a prolonged time, even pausing for intervals if needed, and dictate punctuation to create correct sentences. As the voice input engine enters text, it underlines possible dictation errors in gray. After dictating, you can tap the underlined words to quickly replace them from a list of suggestions. Great phone - lousy battery life
The phone is really great - I just love it! Easy to use, slim in the hand and has all the features you could want in a phone and so much more. The problem is this: it is great to have all the apps you could possibly want, all the features that make life easy and the phone terrific, Google+ and all the features it allows you to do on this phone....BUT....with all of this loaded on your phone (Like I had) the battery lasts all of a few hours once it is off the charger. When I first got the phone, I was thrilled that the battery lasted all day and didn't need a charge until I was ready to go to bed. But then I started adding widgets, apps, games, music, photos, videos and the battery just dwindled down. I was having to literally keep the phone plugged in by 3:00PM until bedtime. I tried to study the phone and see what was eating up the battery all day and started uninstalling, putting the phone to the bare minimum with backlights, synching -- and now my phone lasts all day -- the sad part is all those features, apps, music, Google+ and searching is no longer on my phone but HEY the battery lasts all day again. Very disappointed that you can have such a GREAT phone with so many cool features and then not be able to use them unless your phone is literally plugged in all day.I am keeping the phone because I got such a great deal on it - had I purchased the Galaxy s4 at $250 I would have been super pissed about it. Now I just add in apps I want them, delete them when I don't need them and have to keep watch over the battery life. You know Samsung - if you really want to take over the market with your awesome phones - and they are really awesome -- you need to figure out the battery life and provide the 'extra' large battery with the phone not at the $50 price point.Other than the battery - the phone really is a great phone with wonderful features if you don't mind having samsung phone plugs at home, near your couch, in your car, on your desk at work and one in your purse or bag in case you're somewhere and your battery is declining - it goes fast once it gets to 20%. Just sayin....

Love this phone.
I loved this phone in it's day I got it when it was first out. I love all the apps and the ease of use. It's so user friendly. The biggest issue I had with this phone is the charging port. It failed way too soon and upon researching it, apparently it is a common defect with Samsung phones. I think they know that. I never had any issues with overheating or anything like that, just that the port became loose and eventually would not take a charge. I had to get an external charger and several extra batteries to keep the phone running. Otherwise, I really love this phone. Great camera on it too. Of course, it is now outdated by 5 newer models. Ahh technology... :0) RIP my beloved S3...

And It's a pretty good phone
Hi, I just got the Samsung Galaxy SIII in the mail yesterday morning. I had ordered the phone early Wednesday morning about an hour before I left for work. When I checked back on my account that afternoon. I got sorta scared cuz. The seller that I ordered the phone from, had stated that it had "Heavy" scratches on it and that it was locked to att. It may have stratches on it. Which, They are hardly noticeable. and I can use my SIM card in it. Im a GoPhone User BTW. And It's a pretty good phone. just as good as an iPhone. Many of the apps available in the Apple app store. Can pretty musch be downloaded from the Google Play Store. So, for those of you peeps looking for an iPhone but may not be able to afford it. Get the Samsung Galaxy SIII. The "S" stands for "Super". So If y'all thing about it. The Samsung Galaxy "S"uperIII. So, If you are looking for a phone that the seller says has heavy stratches on it. Thay are very light and hardly noticeable. good luck.

Great phone and service from Amazon Wireless
It is a great phone and the Amazon price and delivery were fantastic. We bought two of these phones. Came with Jelly Bean already installed. When charging for first time noticed that the charging LED was not the same color. Should be red but was almost yellow. The phone also had very short battery life after full charge. Other phone lasted more than a day. I would not have realized the problem if we had not bought two. Called Amazon and they arranged for a replacemet immediately. Service and follow-up by Amazon was great. New phone works exactly like the other phone now. The replacement phone was not a reconditioned phone like you get from At&T or Verizon.

Great Phone!
The process of upgrading my phone was super easy! My time for a upgrade through AT&T was up so I looked on the At&T store online but at the time they didn't have the galaxy3 in stock so I checked on amazon and sure enough they had it and was cheaper than the store! The phone arrived quickly no problems setting it up. I Love the size and quality of the phone! I need a bigger screen and this is it! Easy to navigate through and it has video help through the phone to help with whatever you need. Bright and so many features i'm completely happy with it. Easy to hold and talk on it. Battery life isn't the greatest but it's not too bad I mean it is a smart phone and with apps it does tend to drain some of the battery but that doesn't bug me at all.Great phone!

Be careful when it is charging not to move the phone because some connection piece inside the phone will easily break off and th
Battery does not last very long. Be careful when it is charging not to move the phone because some connection piece inside the phone will easily break off and then you have to send it to Samsung to get it fixed. I had to re-send my receipt in three times to prove that it was still under warranty and they lost it twice and tried to charge me $75 once and then when they sent it back, the home button didn't work even though it worked when I sent it in. Their service is terrible but beyond the weak joint in the charging port, it works well.

a good buy. I got "gypped" for over $600 for ...
A lot cheaper than going to AT&T stores. However, AT&T charges $40 for activation. Still, a good buy. I got "gypped" for over $600 for two when I went to T Mobile store and T Mobile has so few stations that I cannot get signals from home in North Potomac or in the Canal Park (as well in the nursing house where my mother-in-law stayed in Rockville). AT&T works great, fees cheaper (almost half as T Mobile for the same data service etc), and Amazon.com deal is a real steal.
