Having gotten bored with how cheap those
Having gotten bored with how cheap those, usually black, nylon camera bags look, I figured I'd get a canvas bag that costs about 100 to 200 euros (90 to 180gbp). When I showed the bags I was looking at, for example, Think Thank Restrospective and Tenba Cooper, to my girlfriend she noticed a good looking leather bag for a suspiciously cheap price: Cheaper than either of the bags I listed above and genuine leather. After reading both German and English Amazon reviews on versions of both colors it seemed like it's a good leather bag but not really made with that much thought about making a camera bag.So, yes. There's a small gap between the front flap and the bag on the sides where rain may fall in. Pickpocketing something from those gaps should be a bit harder, but you never know. I guess the tablet pocket behind the bag could also have a lid or something. I may use some velcro tape to tape it shut since my tablet is a tiny 8" once and will fit in anyway, but I kinda doubt it.Other than the above problem the bag is excellent. However, just like a few German reviews state, the leather quality isn't the best. You'll want to use some sort of leather balm to moisten it. However, at a price below 100 euros (~90 gbp) when I ordered it getting a genuine leather bag of decent leather quality and good craftsmanship is hard to miss. It fits my Olympus E-PL6 with Olympus 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6, Panasonic 25mm f/1.7, Olympus 14-42mm R II f/3.5-5.6 and Olympus 45mm f/1.7 with plenty of space remaining. I can even fit my Meike MK-320 flash on the front pocket. A bigger flash would probably fit there, but then it would have to not be much thicker than my Meike is. I could also probably fit at least two, maybe even three lenses of approximately the size of the Panasonic 25mm f/1.7. The reason this many lenses fit, however, is that Micro Four Thirds lenses are small and the bag is fairly deep. I carry two smaller lenses on top of each other in relatively thick neoprene pouches. All in all it's a great bag if you don't mind the potentially poor weather survival. I personally am not too keen on using leather shoes during rainy weather so why would I use a leather bag? I am going to get a rain cover in case of a surprising rain and that's the solution many bags offer in the first place.
