Better than the Herculite or the Rustoleum liner. Looks great, easy to apply.
I bought this to overcoat the Herculite liner I applied 4 years ago. The old liner was scuffed and was showing the white truck bed. I bought the siphon spray gun to apply it. That gun quickly exhausted the compressed air supply of my Porter Cable pancake type air compressor. I could spray about 2 square feet of bed before the pressure dropped too much and then it was a wait for the compressor to pump back up. And then about 2/3 rds of the way done on my 8 ft bed the spray gun just stopped working period. So I grabbed a 4 inch throw-away brush (chip brush) and finished up. It went on somewhat thicker than the spray gun's application but the next day when it was fully dry you could not see any difference between the two sections.I applied a second coat using the brush and when it was dry it looked great. Much better than the Herculiner. All in all I used a little more than 3 qts of the 1 gallon can. Before this I tried Rustoleum bed liner and it was a waste of money.I did stir the Plastikote mix up with a drill motor operated mixing paddle both days before using it. The first day I could tell that the heavy particles had settled to the bottom of the can. The brush works so well that I suggest that you don't need a siphon spray gun.Time will tell how well this stuff holds up but right now I'm quite happy with it.

Spray this in for professional looking results!
I put this in the bed of my truck and it looks outstanding! It has a rough grippy texture - it covers well in 2 coats and so far is really strong - Looks great!Pro tip: Buy a cheap undercoating gun and borrow an air compressor if you don't have to. The difference between mopping this on by hand and spraying it on is night and day. I have had pretty critical neighbors ask me where I went to have this installed - it looks that good when sprayed on. Just 2 coats and it's a nice thick professional looking install. Love it!

Great stuff. arrived on time
Great stuff. arrived on time. I have used this for undercoating my 1950 Studebaker, for the flooring and for the roof top on my backyard locomotive and for the lid on my well house. Next year I plan to purchase another gallon and do the inside of the bed of my truck. Applies very easily with either a brush or with an under coating paint gun. I have done it both ways. Dries fast and is extremely durable. I would and I have recommended this to others

Works on the sides of cars/minivans too
I bought this to cover the rocker panels, bumber covers, bottom of the doors, and fender flares or my Chyrsler Minvan. I've done this before to a car about 8 years back using Herculiner. This product is similar although the texture is more "flakes" than "bumps" like in the Herculiner. Some of the flakes really stick up out of the surface. It's only been 24 hours and it's not fully cured yet but so far it seems to be doing a good job. I prepped the heck out of the paint by scuffing it up with 120gr. paper both by hand and with a power sander to get all the gloss off of it and give it something to grip on. This is key if you don't want it to peel up again. Nothing sticks to glossy paint very well. I spent all morning from about 8AM to past noon taping off the minivan and sanding. Taping only took an hour or so, the rest was all sanding. It took about 2-1/2 hours to cover with about 3 coats, but that is because I was futzing around doing the insides of the doors and the inside parts of the body which take a lot of time. I found that if you try and brush it on you get no texture except at the end of your brush stroke. So if you just dab with the paint brush you get a pretty close approximation of what the roller does. But a paint brush is essential to get into the tight spots and creases where the roller just can't cover. After a few hours of drying I was able to close the doors and go in. The next morning there was no sticking or any issues. I have an outside parking spot off the alley in Chicago. I had to eventually go inside and lock up the car. But it was not a problem. No sticking and no peeling when I opened them up this morning. I could tell it was getting harder all day today each time I checked it. It was still a bit "soft" but dry this morning.I should have used a fresh roller-pan liner after about an hour or so. I think that as it was drying it was effecting the fresh stuff I was pouring into the pan and it kept going on thicker and thicker. Perhaps the drying residue in the pan was causing the fresh coating to self-catalyze faster and harden too quickly. This stuff is not as messy as Herculiner. That stuff sticks to your skin something terrible. The Plasticoat doesn't stick to skin much, but it does stick to hair a little. I have really oily skin and I noticed that it wasn't adhering where it splattered on me, or I got into the stuff on the ground that I had splattered with the roller. My Redwing work boots still have spots on them from 8 years ago when I used Herculiner on my old car. This time I did the work in my stocking feet! That stuff sticks to leather and skin something fierce and I don't have any junk shoes I could jsut throw away. My clothes, of course, were ruined. I wore my "painting" T-shirt and pants. I was using blue nitrile gloves so I didn't get any on my hands but I still got some on my nails when the fingertips ripped a couple of times. It sticks to fingernails pretty well.I used about 7/8th of the can on my van which did everything up to and including the trim line about 12" up the side of the doors. I've got a little left for touch-ups. When I did a car with Herculiner it only used less than half of the can. That Herculiner job turned out well too but after about 4-5 years it just started to fade away. You could see the grey paint coming right through it everywhere where before it was nice and thick all-black. It's like it just dissolved in the UV and the rain. That's why I tried this stuff instead as a few reviews said it was better and lasted a little longer in the sun. It's not totally UV stable but at least it is a little cheaper so If I have to renew it in 4-5 years it'll not be as expensive.

Awful, stay away! Just don't buy it!
This product is absolute garbage. Please save yourself a lot of time and aggravation, and stay far away from this junk. Despite extensive preparation, above and beyond what was recommended, after about a month it is peeling off and rust is coming through due to product not covering well enough. Now I have to remove this product , prep and repaint. At significant cost, and time. It is a scam and waste of time and money.

Totally awesome!
We used it to paint my husbands entire extended cab 93 Chevy k2500 pickup we used 2 gallons and had enough to do the entire outside of the truck and about half the inside of the bed. Probably need one more can to do a good full two coats and have a bit extra for touch ups. Overall very easy to roll on and sponge on. Took about a day to do and only sanded down the rust spots.
