People say you have to spend a hell of a lot of cash to buy a full-suspension bike — or at least a full-suspension bike that truly performs. They're usually right. Usually. But not this time around. The Diamondback Atroz 1 proves them wrong with a reliable single pivot suspension design with sealed cartridge bearings that nicely smooth out the trail. Whether you're climbing to the top of the mountain or working your way back down, you'll find the 27.5 inch wheels offer quick handling while the WTB Vigilante 27.5x2.3 inch tires stay grippy and stable even when you're flying into steep technical terrain. For a workhorse of a full suspension trail bike, look no further than the Atroz 1.• Aluminum frame with 4 inches of rear suspension travel; Kindshock rear shock• SR Suntour XCM fork with 120mm of suspension travel to soak up bumps• Shimano/Suntour 3x8 drivetrain provides 24 gears• Tektro Aries mechanical disc brakes keep you in control• 27.5" wheels offer quick handling• 5 year warranty from date of original purchase of bicycle on front triangle; 1 year warranty on swing arm (warranty applies to original owner)

Comfortable ride
I enjoy riding this bike as it's comfortable with the suspension. It's not the cheapest bike, but it's better than what you'll find in a big box store. I mainly got it due to this being the same company who makes the Diamondback bmx bikes back in the day as I had one. They're quality and relatively easy to deal with. I was missing two bolts, and had to fill out a big form, but the company was quick to send me out a replacement.

Came damaged and cheap bolts/tools
Rear brake disc is badly warped and the tire doesn't even want to rotate. Don't use the cheap Alan Wrenches that come with the bike for assembly the are very low quality and will strip the bolts. I have to get a new bolt for the front brake assembly because when I tried to adjust it to stop the brake rubbing the Alan wrench stripped the bolt just trying to loosen it. Too many issues for a brand new $800+ dollar bike.

Bike is fine, assembly is awful.
To say I'm pissed off about this bike/purchase, it would be a severe understatement. Thus far, this review has no bearing on the actual quality of the bike, but the condition in which I received it and the decision making (or lack thereof) in regards to stickers. I'm well aware that this isn't $5k bike, but these issues have nothing to do with quality of components. Keep in mind for the things I'm discussing, I purchased two different bikes from DiamondBack, this being one. Problems were nearly identical between the two.1) The axle lock-nuts were so tight that the wheels would only rotate for a couple revolutions with a decent hand spin. I'm no bike expert, but I knew something was up. When I removed the wheels to inspect the bearings, I could barely spin the axle with my fingers. It felt like the bearings were so compressed that if I attempted to ride it, I would've destroyed them *and* the race (or whatever it's called that they sit in) within minutes. How could a professional bike company set up an axle like this... or 4 of them?2) Missing a couple hub seals. No big deal, but I can't find replacements online. There doesn't seem to be a standard naming convention and the ones I've found look slightly different.3) Discs were engaging almost non-stop. As I'm not an highly experienced, this took some time to move the brake calipers around and adjust the backside pad by itself to get it just right. However, the bigger problem was the fact that the rotor itself was warped slightly. 3 out of 4 wheels had significant contact (2 bikes) with the disc pads either non-stop or because they were warped. The boxes were in good condition and the rotors weren't touching anything. How were almost all warped?4) Only 2 out of the 4 wheels (2 bikes) would be considered true. One on each bike had at least one wheel that was either horizontally or vertically out of alignment (or both). They aren't horrible, just worth noting. Most people I think will just blindly ride the bike out of the box.5) This is what truly pissed me off about this bike: The fking stickers. Not only are there an no less than ~25 of these fking things on each bike, but the choice of glue is asinine at best. Most of the stickers, while a pain to remove, came off without too much effort and left no glue behind. The same cannot be said about the fking stickers on the wheels. Did you know that this bike has 27.5" rims that are double-walled aluminum? Well, fear not, regardless of the angle you are looking at the bike, you will be reminded by EIGHT fking stickers on the rims telling you this from every single fking angle. Oh, you don't like them? Hell, just remove them like the rest! Nope. The glue is some sort of alien super compound that THREE DIFFERENT BRANDS of "goo off" styled sticker/glue remover would barely touch. I even tried a blow-dryer. Nothing makes this tar-like substance come off the fking rim. I several hours just getting the front rim ALONE done and it's not even done. I tried heat, plastic scraping tools, glue emulsifiers, paper towels, cloth rags, old shirts, pieces of jeans, and finally fking Scotch-Brite pads. It took HOURS to do one wheel poorly. And for the record, I'm 220lbs and leg press 1k. I have a fairly strong grip. The fking moron at the company who thought it was a good idea to put those stupid fking things and use that fking glue should be immediately fired as this will ABSOLUTELY be the last DB bike I ever buy. Imagine buying a new car and then you find out the dashboard is covered in tar. You'd ask yourself, "why did they put this here? What kind of moron would think this okay?" That's the equivalent. The rest of the actual bike seems to be good so far, but it's REALLY hard looking past the other things. They matter just as much to me. If they don't to you has a prospective buyer, then great. As an an ending side note, they don't publish negative reviews on their site.

Good bike for the price
I'm a large guy, but this bike feels really sturdy. The first thing I noticed was how much better this rolled compared to my bike with 26'' rims. The rear suspension coil is a little squeaky, and I am sure I will swap it for an air shock at some point, but it should work for now. My biggest annoyance was having to adjust the front and rear derailleurs, as the shifting was all out of wack. Now that it is adjusted, though, it shifts pretty smoothly. An overall solid bike.

Great price for a well-built bike
Great bike, have a few hundred miles on it so far. Everything is solid and well manufactured, assembly was pretty easy as well. Only have two qualms: the front brake has started to get squeaky, and i immediately had to replace the seat with something more comfortable. Would definitely buy again.
