I don't start reviews with "I didn't expect too much at this price or if it's made in the far east". If I spend £300+ and it says Fender on the headstock then I expect value. I am not disappointed. As soon as I took it out of the box my wife said "That's beautiful". And it is. Easy on the eye, well made, good weight. The brown stain finish is very good but to get the ONLY two negatives out of the way, there was a minuscule blemish on the stain which polished out and a minor scuff on the resonator cover which also polished out. So how does it sound? I play in open D. The tone is deep and rich, using fingers, plectrum or slide the expression is excellent. The action may be a little low for some slide users but adjustment could be made. I am told that the proof of a resonator is if you pluck a string and "kill"it then the resonator bowl should carry on ringing, It does, for a long time. This guitar has allowed me to use a whole new style of music, as a blues instrument it is first class, for country picking too, clear, sharp notes ring out against a lovely droning bass. Yes, I recommend it.
