Too many Range Extenders required
The Wiser system when working is great and has saved me £hundreds. Recovered the cost within the first year or so. The biggest issue I have found with the system is the thermostats don't seem to have much range as such for a house of any reasonable size you need a few of these Range Extenders. My system has 16 radiators in a large floorpan bungalow. Originally started with two of these units and had drop out issues. Added a third and it improved but still some drop out. Now added a fourth and no drop outs and the system is steady. Positioning the extenders is a bit of guess work. They are easy to set up and as a controlled switch work well. Its just unfortunate you need so many of them.

Good signal booster
Some of my more remote smart valves had been occasionally disconnecting from the hub. Adding one smart plug as fixed that.In terms of its function as a smart plug, it seems to work fine, but I have no use for that functionality.Nicely made of premium materials.

Great range extenders for more remote radiators, but very expensive as a smart plug.
There’s really only one reason to pay £45 for a Wiser smart plug … as a range extender if some of your Drayton Wiser devices are struggling with a weak signal to your heating hub. They work very well in that regard and cure the connectivity issues very well. (After installation, you might need to briefly remove the batteries from your radiator thermostats to coax them into using the improved connection). The plugs are fully integrated into the Wiser app and can automatically power off with your Away Mode, if you so choose. Alexa automatically finds and links them too. Power consumption monitoring is useful, but most other smart plugs costing £8 or £9 would have that too.In short - works brilliantly well, but horrendously expensive!

Bought as a workaround, but impressed.
I bought this as a trial solution to tie-in my MVHR system into the rest of Drayton's Wiser heating system, if it didn't work, I'm sure I could have found a use for it controlling a lamp or something. It's a bit annoying that with Heat Recovery systems becoming more popular, there doesn't seem to be a lot of options for linking them in to work with everything else.Dedicated 3rd party controllers are unneccesarily expensive and few (if any) offer Smart support, often they're just a timer and 'boost' control, so not much better than a cheap boiler thermostat...disappointing.You're effectively left with the options of either buying a controller and programming it to roughly work around Wiser's heating schedules, or leaving the MVHR on continuously on a low setting and living with it indirectly kicking the heating on and off a bit more often than you'd like.I hope that Drayton comes out with something for this problem in the future. They already have underfloor heating controllers so it would be a nice addition to help stop the MVHR fighting against the heating system.Anyway, I decided to try this out, to simply switch the power on/off to the MVHR unit according to the heating schedules I'd already set so that it doesn't run continuously (and annoyingly) throughout the night. Setup was effortless and problem-free, I was that impressed that I'm thinking of leaving it as it is now as it pretty much does exactly what I needed it to do...even if it is a little ad-hoc.The included power-monitoring function is also quite handy, in this case, I can see when my air filters may need cleaning when it starts drawing a few more watts than normal. Brilliant!

perfect to extend wiser wifi reach and smart plug in one
Wish i'd gotten this sooner, was getting very frustrated with my wiser thermostat losing connection with the base station and so finally lost patience and picked this up. As I said, should really have done it sooner.Have been using it for about 3 months now and have had zero connections issues in this time. Also the smart plug functionality is really useful. Highly recommend

Its got some features that you are paying for but rarely use
Build quality excellentIntegration into the App - FineCould do with more App programming capability such as dusk on and a fixed off timePower measurement works nicely but I would have prefered it to be £10 cheaper and without it as I rarely use it.Price - Ouch

Great smartplugs. Limited by app functionality
They work well as on/off smartplugs. They also do a good job of increasing the frequency range from the heating hub to wireless rad thermostats. Our property is long (and old, with very thick walls) and required 2. 1 every 10m down the building. I wish the app would allow plug functionality with the thermostats on the radiators. I have them connected to oil radiators. For those to switch on and off when the radiator in the same room calls for heat, would be a very welcome feature. Or even to allow them to operate with a wiser room stat. The radiator in 2 of our rooms is not sufficient by itself.
