Great little diffuser for your Fenix light
I use this on my Fenix headlamp and it works well. I was surprised at the level of focus of Fenix's lights. Since I use my headlamps for doing things in large spaces -- exploring, caving, cooking outside -- I have more of a need for "flood" than "spot." This diffuses surprisingly well, lighting up whatever and wherever I am in a broad flood pattern.Other reviewers mentioned that there is a small gap between the lens that deflects light down toward the wearer's eyes. This is correct (and one of the reasons that it gets 4 stars), but it's easily remedied by moving the hinge to the left or right instead of opening it vertically. It also works great for protecting your lens. This is especially helpful for people like me who carry their lights with them in bags and such.Overall, this works well enough, especially for its price. And since it's so cheap, it'd be handy to have on hand and use as a lens protector -- even if you don't find yourself needing floodlight-type throw very often. Just buy it, it's worth the money.

Candle mode
Favorite feature: The fact that it actually reflects light to the sides and behind it giving everything a little direct light except what's directly behind it.I bought this expecting something that would give me just a bit more of a flood when using outside and not needing such a fine beam on my pd30 r4. Although the it doesn't perfectly and smoothly disperse light in all directions, it does manage to spread it far beyond the 180 degrees i considered might be the limit. In it's design it refracts light directly to the sides and reflects some behind the flashlight too lighting everything in the area, especially in higher power from the flashlight. However while doing that, it does still provide a flooded brightness that exceeds the lights normal flood zone by a large margin and is brighter throughout. It was rather tough to fix to the head, but has been no problem at all to keep affixed while keeping the flashlight secured in it's stock holster, allowing me to simply velcro the securing strap over the top of the diffuser keeping it on at all times with no issues whatsoever. The opening feature is really nice as well. One flip of the lid and it's back to being a 200 foot spot light. This simple and cheap add-on has increased the versatility of my light more than i can measure for such a small expense.

Works as advertised, but not perfect.
I purchased this diffuser for my Fenix HP10.It fits just right and basically works as advertised to eliminate the HP10's searing hotspot, providing a pretty even and soft diffused light. The main downside is that they don't provide any frame/border on the diffuser plastic lens, so the light leaks quite a bit to the sides. If you wear your headlamp right on your forehead (without caps), then you'll likely get a decent amount of light in your eyes to cause discomfort... and people around you may think that your face is a floating mini-moon.Pros:- Cheap- Works as advertised in diffusing bright Fenix lights- Light- Fairly sturdy for its small size, cost and simple constructionCons:- Light leaks from the sides, likely to discomfort your eyes

bought it but don't use it as intended
I bought two of these when I bought my Fenix lights. It does diffuse the light but I use it more to protect the light lens. If I use the diffuser with the light, it creates a bright area above my eyes which is distracting. I usually use my light mounted over a cap or hat most of the time, and then this bright area is not a problem. If I was using the light in real close quarters (plumbing under the sink or in a small closet) it might be more useful to me. I flip it down after I turn the light off and place my light in a storage drawer just to keep the lens clean and scratch free.

Works, but fits loosely on LD20
What you see is exactly what you get. THE BAD: Problem with this diffuser is that it is designed to fit lights of varying diameters. So it doesn't fit as snug as I would like it to. Easily slides down or off and spins. When you want to close the cap to work the diffuser part, you have to slide it up to the top to line up. I imagine it would fall right off if it was tossed around. Or if you swung the flashlight around lightly. THE GOOD: It's super light, seems durable and fits in the holster while on the light. Just flip of your thumb and you can diffuse the light without having to carry a separate attachment. Thinking about adding a small O-ring on the bottom to keep it firmly in place.

More practical for a headlamp application
The diffuser lens was easy enough to slide onto the flashlight but I had a hard time getting it just right so lid was flush when closed. This leads to some annoying light leaks. i'd be much happier if I was using this on a Fenix headlamp. The flashlight with lens on wont fit in the stock holster and feels too flimsy to toss in a bag pocket if you only want to use it occaisionally. It's shallow enough to keep in a pants pocket if you really want but again, I'd be worried about it breaking at the hinge where the lid can flip up. I tried this and the red light filter and was dissappionted in both. There is a kit that includes those two, as well as two other accessories for a decent price: Fenix Accessory Kit - LD and PD Series (4 Piece Kit) I'd go that direction if you still want to try this out.

There has been a redesign ...
Fenix has changed the design to a notched, black plastic ring with the same flippable diffuser. It still lets light bleed around the edge, but this is less than 0.1". Testing it on an LD10, it can be attached and removed without any difficulty yet doesn't slide off. The Fenix website still doesn't have a photo of the redesign (Nov 2011). One star removed due to the light bleed.

Necessary
This is absolutely necessary if you are purchasing a Fenix lamp. I have used this on several trips and is the only way not to blind someone with the lamp. I am a bit surprised that Fenix doesn't include this with their lamp for the hefty price they charge, which is the explanation for the 4 stars instead of 5.

GOOD。
