Of Frost and Feather: A Brides of Mist and Fae Novel (Flame Cursed Fae Book 2)

Author is killing me with the cliffhanger ending
Overall just a great book. I read all of it almost immediately on release day. Yippee! I get to do the first review! I read a lot of fantasy romance novels... Like a lot. I don't even read titles anymore I just pick something that looks interesting on Kindle unlimited and if I like the description then I read it. If you are also familiar with this genre you are aware that there is a lot of trash out there, that's kind of a prerequisite at this point. I say this because this series is very well written compared to a lot of the stuff I've read. The pacing is great, the main character isn't an idiot or just insanely overpowered from the beginning, the ml isn't an irredeemable a**hole, the fantasy is at the forefront (personal preference), the world building is fantastic, and there's mystery mixed in there. Not plot holes, mystery. I have questions that are intended by the author and the way things are going I think we'll genuinely get answers to them. The fl and ml are drawn to each other but it's not this immediate "they fall into each other's arms and they hate each other but oh not really" and that's the end of it. At this point the ml hasn't done anything unforgivable that gets waved away by a mate bond or something (drives me up the wall) and I really hope it stays that way. Please give this book (and obviously the first in this series) a chance. I really don't think you'll regret it. I'm sure the next one will be worth the wait.

Good read! Bring on book 3
More secrets revealed but lots more to uncover. Really enjoyed this book and looking forward to next. World is interesting and so are characters.

Good
WARNING! Cliffhanger! This one rates a 4/5 of my trauma scale, where it’s not a life threatening situation, but very much a “what?!” situation leaving you wondering and wanting more.Maddy is learning more about herself, now she has a Bear to help her fight, and there seems to be some magical ability just beginning. She’s still fighting to earn her place at the academy, while struggling with her blackouts, and the tasks she has set herself. Some secrets are revealed in this book, and even as our heroine progresses in her abilities, she is shocked by the things she learns. There is a steamy scene, a few action scenes, and some intriguing magical ones. The revelations impact the ongoing background story too, and prove to be intriguing in and of themselves. This is an excellent fantasy/romantasy series, with a Norse theme and an interesting premise, and since it is the second book in the series, it’s not a standalone, it has to be read in order. It’s well written and engaging, and well worth the effort.Fantasy/romantasy fans will enjoy it.

As boring as expected
A filler book of course never gives anything substantial. We learned very little to the overall plot of the book. A lot of murder attempts and training her new powers with almost no interaction with Kain. The cliffhanger at the end wasn't jaw dropping because I think we all knew something was up with her sister since the first book. Author did this same pattern with Mazrith and Reyna story so I expect the third book to be similar then wrap it all up in the 4th. I skimmed through most of the 280 pages and got the gist. I will still finish the series though

She does it again!
As usual it's a well written and consistent world building with relatable characters and a mystery to solve. A job well done.

I love the character development in these stories and the use of the nordic mythology is great! I'm waiting for the third book to come out so I can see what happens between Maddy and Kain.

Great story but far too short!
I‘m really enjoying the series & had planned to spend my Sunday engrossed but I was finished by lunchtime - it felt like I’d only just gotten started with this book & it was finished already. Hence 4 stars instead of 5. And I’m now waiting impatiently for book 3.

great read
It took me a few chapters to get back into the story (and even remember what happened in the last book) but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Can’t wait for the next one in January.

a Delightful Read
Of Frost and Feather was a wonderful sequel to the first book in this series. The way Eliza Raine adapts mythology is breathtaking.Anyone that loves spicy scenes and Norse mythology should read this book.
