Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway, Roll & Whistle James

Of all the Thomas engines, I can't believe my son loves James the most. He's pranks Percy and not doing enough good deeds. There are more standup trains like Edward or Hiro, but James?!Kidding aside, it looks durable and I like the headlamp and sounds. I'm not a fan of the clouds painted on the sides. One or two clouds would have been fine, but they got carried away.

This set is nice, it looks cute, specially the tender, it is complety wood, however, the engine has a lot of plastic and it feels like they could have been done it a little better... I bought this for making a consist with sounds, (the sound is nice) with a motorized engine, however this didnt work so well, the wheels that need to roll to make the sound are not as free to roll as they should be, i think it is okay if you just pull the engine with your hands because you use naturally more force, but if a battery operated engine pull it, then the wheel (the ones that make the sound) doesn't turn very well, sometimes they make a turn sometimes not... so you never get the sound in a continues way...

The train is well made and makes various sounds depending on the speed it's pushed. My son can be hard on his toys, but this is holding up really well.Edit: My son has been playing with this train for several months now and not only has it held up, but the batteries are still going strong. If he ever does manage to break it, I would purchase again in a heartbeat.

Roll and Whistle James is a fun add-on to the Thomas train set. Our two-year old really enjoys manually pushing the train cars along the wooden tracts, or attaching the set by their magnets to other train cars to create a line. James and the accompanying coal car can be played with together or separately, however, they need an motorized engine to pull them along.As soon as James’s wheels turn, a light comes on, a whistle blows, and the sounds of a traveling train begin. As James moves faster, the train sounds speed up as well. Lots of fun!Like all Fisher-Price Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway trains, James is well made and has held up nicely after hours and hours of use.

Much smaller than the picture . Too small for my grandson. I had to return it.

Doesn't move on its own, just noises and lights

Thomas Wooden Railway is the only trains I buy. The quality of these trains is amazing. They always fit on the tracks and the workmanship of the items is very impressive. They withstand years of abuse and will most likely be passed down to the next generation when my children have kids. Buy them on sale though since these items are usually twice their equivalent cheap models.

Why does it have to make sound every time it's touched?

Very nice little engine which whistles and "chuffs" when pushed along. Great favourite with my youngest grandson.

Both Thomas and James rolling whistle stop working after one week even when u replace the batteries and the small metal coins might as well just buy the wooden one for ten pound 20 plus pound a total waist of money.
