Great Robovac for the cheap price I paid.
Excellent Robovac for an even better price, under $500 for a refurbished version feels like a steal. Pros: Cleans great, solid system and performance. Pretty solid app No more dusty floors from infrequently dusted/cleaned floors. Cons: Doesn't do well with charger cords, it will attempt to eat them and get clogged somewhat regularly if you do not make a habit of putting them somewhere it can get a hold of it. The dirty area detector for recleaning/deep cleaning seems to be non-existent. For example, if there is a ketchup stain on the tile floor it will go over it normally and only half the stain is gone and it won't revisit it as the app control suggests. The cleaning solution seems fairly weak but that may be due to the limited time any stain on tile is intact with it. Highly recommended to spray a spot with separate cleaner before it cleans an area. At that point you could just clean it yourself but if you wanna save a washrag or paper towel it's an option. Depending on your expectations the cleaning process can seem slow. Other thoughts: I tried the everyday cleaning method in high traffic areas but it just seems very unnecessary for 3 adults in the same household. I set it up for twice a week for heavy traffic areas aka kitchen, living room and hallways. With a full home cleaning spread out over 2 days once a week.(Home is too large to get it done in one charge so spreading to two days was ideal.) Household will vary but everyday seems like too much. Be sure to clean the sensors regularly as the Robovac can become somewhat stupid in tight areas. Entering areas it fits in but fails to leave the area stating it's stuck when nothing has changed.

Amazing Robot: Perfect Mapping & Mopping
I am extremely impressed with this automatic vacuum. For the last few years, I've been using a Roomba j6+, and it wasn't working well for me. It felt like it struggled on the carpet, it could never clean corners so dirt/hair would build up, and worst of all it would get stuck on just about anything. After doing some research and arriving at this being one of the best robot vacuums out there, I pulled the trigger despite the hefty price- and I have NOT regretted it at all. This vacuum does an amazing job cleaning. After my roomba j6+, I went out and got an even deeper carpet, and this Roborock has had no issues cleaning it. And I wasn't even aware of what I was missing out on without having a mopping robot cleaner before now. It really makes my floors feel and look clean. It's a noticeable difference from the last few years. Whenever I go to remove the dirty water, I'm surprised by just how much and how dirty it is. But by far the greatest thing about this vacuum over my last is its obstacle avoidance and mapping. My old roomba would get stuck on the carpet, stuck on chords or cat toys, and if it avoided those it would NEVER get past my barstools. Id wake up to have to find where the vacuum ended up, it be out of battery, and I need to carry it to the docking station. The camera and LiDAR system for this Roborock vacuum completely alleviates this pain point. I never find it having trouble getting back, and the map will even show me the obstacles it had avoided. A few other neat things I appreciate: - the app is very clean, and well organized-- but voice commands and schedules make it so that you dont even need to worry about that either - You can remote control it! Not sure how useful this is, but if you ever are on vacation or away from home and want to find your pet, you can do so. There's even a button to "Find Your Pet", and it will find your animal and let you know it found it. - the cleaning sound (removing dirty and cleaning mop) when it goes back to dock isnt quiet by any means, but is noticeably quieter than my previous vacuum. - it's not much larger than my previous vacuum - Replacing water/soap/cleaning out dirty water is simple. I keep it near the kitchen so I can easily do these things - connecting to wifi was a breeze and i haven't had any issues from a smart-home perspective at all Overall I can easily recommend this vacuum. If you're willing to pay the expensive price, I can vouch that I haven't been disappointed by it's performance. Not sure what else you could ask for from a Robot vacuum.

Has auto lifting wheels for high thresh holds!
⚠️ FRAUD Company⚠️ December 2025 the side arm brush broke which should be expected if anything gets caught on it the. It will 100% kill the motor. I didn’t bother even trying to deal with the warranty claim and addressed the repair myself which was fairly easy and straight forward. I had to order the part from Aliexpress since Roborock does not offer parts to consumers. I have made multiple legal requests for the repair manuals and Information guaranteed under Oregon ORS 1596 CH 69 right to repair law. All requests have been denied. When calling in to the customer support number is pointless because they claim they can’t do anything and there is no way to speak with anyone in the warranty claims department. They refuse to do anything other than make notes. There is no customer advocacy aka legal department contact information or US based address. The warranty language is unethical and illegal with many red flags but that is actually extremely normal with most companies especially based over seas selling in the US market. ⛔️ I have filed a complaint with my State attorney general consumer fraud and affairs division. Per my legal rights under FTC and ORS consumer rights laws, it is illegal for companies like Roborock to imply or state that they will void a warranty if a consumer makes repairs or modifications to a product. I decided to open up the docking station and everything looks clean! I did not see any water spots or corrosion which would indicate water leaking internally. So I ran a descale cycle on the mop cleaning and then bit the bullet and started a room clean and mop cycle while simultaneously watching the internal pumps and hoses for any leaks. As soon as the Roborock vacuum came off the docking station I immediately noticed the all too familiar continuous streaming leaking water coming from the vacuum it’s self and I stopped the cycle from running. I have now 100% determined the issue is with the vacuum it’s self and not the docking station. So I can now begin to open up the vacuum chassis to look for the culprit of this issue. Update: 8 months of use and there is a water leak happening. So I have notified Roborock customer service and supplied pictures. Under Oregon Law SB 1569 CH 69 I am legally requesting any and all repair manuals, diagrams, and materials and or pursuant to FTC consumer rights warranty laws I am requesting a new replacement be sent at no cost due to manufacturer defect. Water is leaking out the top of the unit and getting inside of the dust bin and all over the floor. Water is seen spilling out when the vacuum is inverted. It appears that Roborock offers a limited 1 year warranty that has some illegal unenforceable stipulations that violate US federal consumer rights laws. So be aware that buying from this company will present ethical and legal challenges if needing to utilize the warranty for manufacturing defect. Remember you can always file a claim with your State Attorney General Consumer affairs division if the company violates your protected federal or State code Sumer rights. This is my first robo vacuum! I did a lot of research and I actually wanted the model up from this one but it was sold out! I am so happy with this model low profile it cleans areas that I used to only access on a monthly or yearly basis by moving large pieces of furniture! I bought this when there were zero reviews available! It has been working great for me since day #1. I used the vacuum for the first 3 cleaning without the mop feature as instructed and it was straight forward! There was a small bit of learning curve with the app interface as features are not intuitive and it takes a minute to orient one’s self! My hair is down to my low back and I have 5 cats inside and after this first week of using the vacuum every day I never want to be without one again. I love the mopping feature except that it keeps sending me notifications for an empty water bin 💔. I have kept the water bin on half full to prevent any standing water mold growth (look up pink mildew) you will recognize it from your shower and plant watering cans if you have seen it before. I noticed that it adapts and learns quickly to new objects like laundry baskets but for some strange reason and despite setting the floor layout it keeps pushing my pet bowls out of place 🙈💔. Thankfully the auto pet feeder is not currently programmed to feed otherwise the food would go all over the floor. I a, considering acting some removable and washable dusting pads to the sides of this little guy to hit my baseboards and furniture. - this stopped after a few months once the programming learned it was a feeding station.

A Modern Robot Vacuum
Summary: I replaced a ~$400 shark robot vacuum with this one after doing a ton of research. I am more than happy with my purchase. Vacuum works very well on tile and carpet, and the mop does a good enough job (equivalent of a light swiffering). The app works wonderfully, and the vacuum fits under my cabinets. Highly recommend!!! Pros: + Fits under my low entertainment system and kitchen cabinets. Neither of my last 2 robot vacuums could do that. + Did a good job of mapping. Was able to identify correctly different surface types (carpet vs hard floors), furniture, and other objects. It did struggle with a standing mirror on the floor (it thought it was a door to another room), but I can't really hold that against it. + Does a good job vacuuming up most debris and dirt; like all mop/vacuum combinations, it doesn't vacuum up hair quite as well as a vacuum only (I think the hair gets stuck in the mop pads?) + Mops pretty well. Robot mops are generally just "okay" at mopping; it's just water and scrub pad, so it doesn't work much better than a moderate "swiffer". That said, it works well, and it has never tried to mop a carpet. + It gets the edges of walls/furniture/cabinets very well when mopping. + App is extremely good, definitely stronger than many other brands. There are a lot of detailed controls, as well as extremely detailed run maps, information about objects it has identified, and very flexible scheduling features. + It gives VERY GOOD error messages. If there is a specific thing wrong - for example, a sensor is dirty, the error message will say "a sensor is dirty" both via the vacuum speaker AND the app. If you open the message in the app, there will be a diagram and instructions on how to clean the sensor. SO HELPFUL. + It gives the right number of error messages. I am not constantly being bombarded with messages like "obstacle avoided" . It only tells me about things I need to take action on. + It looks sleek (for a robot vacuum). Cons: - Gets hair tangled around the brush roll, but this is a problem for all robot vacuums. It's not much worse than my last vacuum, but it is probably the thing that requires the most maintenance on the vacuum. - Requires a bag. I really liked that Shark is a bagless system, and I really loved that. Having to buy and replace bags sucks, and, honestly, it feels "old". - It does eat thinner cables if you are not careful. It will avoid most "normal" cords (e.g. the cord on a lamp or an surge protector), but it struggles with the narrow (and long) cables used for most phone chargers. It has eaten the 6ft USB-C cable by my bed a couple of times. - This is nitpicking - I hate that I can talk directly to my vacuum. I don't need my vacuum to be constantly listening to me. The vacuum absolutely should be able to connect it to an Amazon Echo/Google Home, but why in the world would I want to speak directly to my vacuum (and only my vacuum)? Who is thinking "gee, my life would be SO MUCH better if only I could give JUST my vacuum verbal commands to do a very limited set of actions? Actions that could be controlled more easily and with more detail via the app, which does not require I be within speaking distance of my vacuum?" The feature is dumb. It's not anywhere near a deal breaker, but I really hate that someone wasted time and money on this feature (which I'm sure contributed to the overall cost of the vacuum).

Fantastic cleaning robot
Roborock S8 Max Ultra – One Week In: A Real-World Review I’ve been using the Roborock S8 Max Ultra for about a week now, right after moving into my new home. Overall, the experience has been smooth and impressive. 📶 Setup & Wi-Fi Connection During the initial setup, I did run into a common issue: the robot only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Since my home network used a combined 2.4GHz/5GHz band, I had to split the bands and connect the robot to the 2.4GHz network manually. Once I did that, the pairing process was straightforward. 🧹 Cleaning Performance My house has laminate flooring throughout and tiled bathrooms. Right now, we don’t have a lot of furniture, but the robot has done a great job navigating around chair and table legs, accurately detecting and avoiding them with its obstacle avoidance system. I ran two separate cleaning tasks: a full-house vacuum at standard intensity and a full-house mopping. The vacuuming performance was solid—it picked up hair and small debris effortlessly. Some corners were a bit hard to reach, but that’s pretty typical for any robot vacuum. The mopping was also impressive: the floor was noticeably cleaner without being left too wet. 🤖 Smart Features That Impressed Me Two things stood out in a good way: 1. When vacuuming the small bathroom rug, the robot not only detected it accurately but also cleaned it without shifting it out of place. 2. It successfully recognized and marked clusters of charging cables and even a bathroom scale on the app’s map—which was surprisingly accurate. ⚠️ One Minor Flaw The only issue I’ve encountered so far was in my study. The robot detected the modem’s power cable lying on the floor but still spent a little too long cleaning around it, eventually pulling the plug out. I plan to set a no-go zone in that area for future cleanings, which should solve the problem. ✅ Verdict All in all, this was a very worthwhile purchase. The S8 Max Ultra has taken care of the majority of my floor cleaning needs and saved me a ton of time and effort. While it’s not flawless, its performance and smart features have been more than enough to win me over.

Very Good, not Excellent
Summary A very solid robot vacuum/mop combo with a smart base system that's packed with features. However, isn't amazing, especially for the high price. 8.75 out of 10 Vacuuming This robot does great job here. I rarely, if ever, notice any debris left behind on both carpet and hardwood/tile when it does its runs. There are multiple power settings as to how strong the suction power can be, I usually run it at High (there are two further settings: Max & Max+). 10/10 Mopping Good, but not as good as I'd have expected it to be. It most certainly gets the floors cleaned and does a nice job without leaving trails of water behind. Where I think it falls short is "deep cleaning" and use that term very loosely. For smudges or stains that require a slight amount of elbow grease, the robot doesn't effectively clean those well. I'll continue to try and mess around with the settings to see if this area gets better. 7/10 Obstacle Avoidance Another area that's good in general but not as great as I'd hoped. It navigates around/through chairs, clothes, and shoes with ease. However, on two occasions the robot attempted to run over the foot of a guitar stand we have, got confused, and then got stuck. From my research, Roborock and Dreame are the two brands with the best obstacle avoidance, so I will admit I had high expectations. 8/10 Traversal The robot transitions from hardwood to carpet seamlessly and navigates edges very well. The one issue I had here was it got stuck going from tile floor to a memory foam bath mat. While I sort of understand there's probably about and inch of difference between the floor and the mat, my old Roomba could handle that easily, so I'd expect a much more advanced robot to handle with ease. 8/10 The Base Absolutely incredible. It washes and dries all of the mopping components, it self empties, it will direct the robot to go back and clean again if detects a lot of dirt after a run, it speaks to you, it's straightforward to use, and it's not an eyesore. 10/10 General Usage (9.5/10) Noise level - Very good when in use, much quieter than my old Roomba and usually I can't hear it if I'm upstairs while it's running. Battery life - No issue here, I only have it run downstairs which is about 1,000sq ft. and it can complete a full vacuum and mop run on one charge and still have some power left over. However, if the floor plan is larger than 1,200 sq ft. I'd imagine it would need to charge partway through it's run. App - Functionality is great and you can do just about everything you can think of (schedules, routines, map editing, etc.) The one thing I wish was better was it's connection with Siri/Google. While it does connect to Apple Home, etc. I'll run into some issue using a voice command to start the robot or it won't run the routine I asked it to run. However, not sure if that's a Roborock problem or an Apple/Google problem.

Meets expectations
I haven’t owned a different model to compare this robo vac/ mop with but this one seems to function well, and it should for the price. The vacuum function is excellent at pickup, and the same for the mopping. The navigation is solid. It does bump things very often and mis identifies obstacles but not a serious issue. I believe this stems from not having the lidar puck on top but rather in the front and relaying more on cameras for the navigation so they could achieve the lower profile design. Which to that end, this does fit nicely under literally every piece of furniture we own, including the dressers, which makes us feel great about how affective it cleans compared to our old vacuums and mops which literally never got under any of that unless we were rearranging a room. So for that aspect alone it’s great. I am a little concerned about long term wear and tear as it seems to struggle a bit in our tall high pile bedroom carpets and I’m sure that leads to a lot of motor fatigue. Another thing to note: it’s nice to not have to use a vacuum or mop but you do have to still think about where and when it cleans because things left on the floor present a big obstacle to it. Shoes, laundry, power cords, toys, anything small in its path it will bump into and around and even sometimes tangle with, so things need to be picked up if you want it to do a nice job or not get stuck. I think where it would really shine is big open spaces that don’t hardly see any clutter but have lots of furniture. Just maybe not high end wood furniture because again; this particular model bumps everything. There’s a setting to not get close to things but then I feel it defeats the point. The app functions well and is pretty easy to use for anyone that’s got some aptitude for that sort of thing. Otherwise I think you would want to watch some help videos or read the manual. In 5 years (maybe less) I think robovacs will be incredible, this isn’t quite there. But it is nice if you have the money to spare or a lack of time. TLDR: The low profile may make for slightly poorer navigation but it’s does an excellent job cleaning including underneath everything.

I was... liking it a lot! but that didn't last long
2/9/26 edit: Roborock did contact me within 24 hours with some steps to test, which I doubt is going to help but it seems they are genuine in trying to resolve the issue and the steps they provided are very straight forward. I just haven't had time to do it and get back to them. Hopefully they make the process of getting a working robot to me quick and easy. Will update this with what happens. Boosted a star for now for the quick and genuine support from Roborock. 2/6/26 Edit: I've had this thing less than 2 months and the thing cannot dock itself. I think it's a sensor internally in the robot that isn't recognizing it being docked. I can dock it by hand for charging however, but it will not clean. I think it's a sensor inside the robot itself that I've read of Roborock in other issues. This thing was really expensive and already totally unusable, very unhappy. If Roborocks response to my help inquiry is sufficient I will update this. Now that I've had some time with it I am really loving it. It does a wonderful job on all of our floors, tile, vinyl and a few carpets, 2 kids, 5 furry pets. I've had very few problems since the initial run and I think it does a considerably better job than the Dreame L20 I had before this. I upgraded from the Dreame specifically for the refill and drain system, but the Dreame was having some longevity issues of its own, though it had been quite the workhorse for us for a year and did a great job. I was a little worried after the first run, the floor was clear of obstacles but I let it get a little dirty than normal to test the robot when it came. First run over the full house the floors still looked like crap, the internal dry bin filled up and clogged. The drain also clogged during the first run, and second run, first time it blew out fine from the inside but the second clog I had to remove the little panel on the bottom where the drain goes to the waste hose and use pressure to blow towards the unit. Cleared right out. I think the clogging of the dust bin caused the mop to get really dirty which in turn clogged the drain when it was cleaned. Also, I think the 3rd most powerful setting for vacuum and 3rd for mopping gets much better results than the standard and/or "smart". I didn't use the "smart" setting long enough to really get a feel for its worth in the long run but turbo and intense seem much better. Overall I'm very happy, it's got great form factor. Some of the parts have a cheap feel but I have yet to have any functional or aesthetic problems and floors have never been cleaner.

I love it
Why didn’t I buy this sooner. It’s been 2 months of using it. And I only mopped my floor twice. One day I found myself pulling out my broom, and thought use the robot vacuum. It’s does a great job, and it’s not to loud when it runs on the scheduled routine at night while we sleep. Obstacle avoidance is good. Just super happy
