Q: How long is the power cable for the communication unit?

The power cable is 1.2m from Wall plug to connector.

Q: How does the app access the unit? does it have a wifi antenna built-in? is internet access required also, or can it work over lan?

You have to create an account as such and then the app recognises your transmitter near the boiler. Then as long as your receiver unit is in range (all info on website) you can build a program of timings/temperatures to suit your needs. However you can override at any time via your mobile app.

Q: Is this version compatible with an iPhone?

I use it with our iPad and iPhones. Fantastic bit of kit.

Q: Does this have to be installed by an "engineer"?

It isn't difficult but you have to take the cover off the boiler and connect to the eBus so if you are not confident about doing this then get an engineer.
