An amazingly detailed edition.
To tell the truth i bought this book because i had some vouchers i wanted to spend and this has been on my wish list for a while. I did not know what it contained. A lot of clothing books lack detailed illustration and other helpful hints and tips.I am very happy to say that this is not the case with this volume. Illustrated throughout with the actual example of the garment AND reconstructions of the garment. Full and detailed descriptions of the sewign style, warp and wheft of the fabric and detailed tutorials regardign the style of construction and sewign technique.Very much A must in any re-enactor or LARPers Library

Not for a novice
This book is beautifully set out. There aren't as many patterns as I thought there would be and a lot are very similar but it's still absolutely worth your money if this is something that interests you. It's also more user friendly than some books I have seen.

Just what a girl needs
So many questions answered to how clothes were made prior to buttons, zips and sewing machines. I am so excited and looking forward to making my first handmade garment - bespoke, just for me.

Fantastic illustrations
Pictures in this book is very clear and cover a lot of findings. It describes unique archeological evidence of medieval clothing and sewing techniques.

it's much more useful than that
This book contains patterns reconstructed from grave finds in Greenland, mostly for men's tunics and trousers as well as a few small pieces such as liripipe hoods. However, it's much more useful than that. It also has notes on fibres, weaves and spinning techniques, dyes, fasteners - basically everything you would need to actually recreate the garments. This would probably be of most interest to the serious re-enactor or museum conservationist.

Not in English
Was so excited to get this but this book isn't in English. Very disappointed as it does state that it is in English and I read the reviews were no one else seems to have had this issue. I would have returned it only my children got the hold of it. Unfortunately I can't understand any of this, I'm not even sure what language it is in...
