RM Series Replacement Remote Control for HUMAX HDR-FOX T2

A very cheap remote, does the job with no problems but after a while ( about A year) fails to work . This is about my third but for the money I’m content to send for a replacement until the Humax box lets me down .

Initially this would not work with my Humax. I was getting ready to send it back and was looking at an alternative (B0777WPSX8). In the product details it stressed that the Humax should be set to mode 1, and described how to set the mode. I checked my Humax mode and found it was set to mode 6. Changed it back to mode 1 and this remote now works great. It would be worth noting in this product description that the Humax must be set to mode 1.

I've had this remote 11 months and it worked well - a few of the buttons are the opposite to the original Humax remote but nothing to get hung up on. A month ago however, I thought the batteries needed recharging as it stopped working (no lights, nothing) with the batteries fully recharged it worked fine again - but only for a couple of weeks. The same thing happened again, the rechargeable batteries were almost full, but I charged them again, put them back in and once again it worked fine - until it just happened again a few days ago... It's not the batteries, they are still full, but once the remote goes off - leaving it for a while then putting the batteries back in seem to work. Not great when trying to change channel, watch a recording, or anything else from my Humax box. Got bored with this one and bought a different replacement - let's see how long this one lasts...

This is a very good remote that worked perfectly out of the box with no setup. Unfortunately it is not an exact functional replacement for the original. Despite having the 4 device selection buttons - PVR, TV, DVD and AUDIO - there is no way of programming these buttons to control the suggested devices. I contacted the supplier to obtain the procedure for programming and they were very quick to respond and confirmed that the remote didn't support anything other than operating the PVR.

Good design. Especially the 4 "direction arrow" buttons which feel better engineered than the "wheel" device on the original - which has failed on three separate Humax remotes of mine. My only gripe is that for some reason, the positions of the "mute" and "standby" buttons have been reversed from the layout on the original. In a dark room, this can be annoying since I have on a number of occasions switched the box off when I wanted to mute the sound!Overall good value for money.

Prompt delivery as per other deliveries of this replacement, this is our third remote in 2 and 1/2 years, due to the infer red part of the remote stop working each time, there cheap replacements so I guess we can't complain, for under a tenner that lasts 6 to 8 months.

This is a high quality piece of kit. After my "genuine humax" replacement unit died within a year of purchase, I decided to try this one. At around half the price of the Humax, I was impressed by the solidity of the unit and positive feel of the buttons. It worked fine straight out of the box, once batteries were installed. One thing to note though, there is a note on the back of the unit which says that this controls the Humax PVR only - not dvd, TV etc. This was not an issue for me as I only use it with the PVR and it happily controls all functions on the device.
