Gun Fury

This is truly a classic western movie with evil bad guys, handsome leading man, a plucky lady in distress, and people being shot or knifed to death without any blood showing. But it's based on a book and has surprising depth, even today. Set soon after the U.S. Civil War, it reveals the shabby, dangerous frontier. The 3D makes it very real. Viewed projected in 3D on a 120" screen it's immersive: with galloping horses surging into one's living room, guns protruding, and excellent depth into an awe inspiring western landscape. This is a key component of anyone's 3D collection. To all those who brought it back into the blu ray format, BRAVO!

The movie was typical of the genre back then, but the 3D was excellent since it was originally filmed with the two camera technique. Anyone who enjoys 3D will rewarded with this purchase.

Loved it! Sterling performance by Mr Hudson. Obviously very dated, low tech, set in a small but delectable part of the West with enough plot to keep your interest. One of the better old time 50's westerns that I've seen. A piece of film history.

I was very disappointed that I paid $15.61 and got refunded $11.31. I am short $4.30 what happened to that????? NOT HAPPY!!!

One of the greater movies made. Will re-watch monthly

There is not much to say about this particular movie, for it is a routine western. If you are a western movie fan, then you may enjoy it. It is entertaining-there's no doubt about that.However, the reason why I'm writing any review about this film is because of the late actor Phil Carey. I knew nothing about Mr.Carey's long film career until his very recent death this year when I read his obituary. Up to this time, I only knew him as Asa Buchanan on the soap One Life To Live. On watching the very young and very dashing Mr.Carey, I foung myself quite taken by him. He upstaged Rock Hudson in every scene that they were in together with an incredibly virile screen presence, and he had an edge to him which he used to great effect as the villianous Frank Slayton. He made Slayton a man who was both sexually desirable, charming, and poisonous as a rattlesnake. It seems a shame that, while he did have a long successful acting career, he never saw the kind of stardom that the less impressive Rock Hudson saw. I guess it wasn't in the stars for him, but at least he gave us a long body of work that we can enjoy. RIP Mr.Carey.

Hallo, von der DVD gibt es auch eine UK Ausgabe die wesentlich billiger ist, sogar incl. Versand. Unter dem orginal Titel Gun Fury.Auf dieser UK DVD sind auch alle Tonspuren, incl. alter deutscher Kinosyncro.Die Bildquallität ist bis auf einen manchmal vorhandenen Blauschleier gut.
