All timber used in these products is sourced from managed and sustainable forests and is FSC approved. Supplied with basic coat of treatment already applied and it is personal preference whether you would like to apply a preserive to your furniture. Some people prefer to let the furniture turn a silver / grey. The furniture will last for years even with no treatment applied but for maximum life we recommend the furniture is treated with a good quality wood preserive within a few weeks of purchase. The best ones are those recommended for doors and windows or you can buy a specific garden furniture stain. Varnish or creosote are not recommended as these can become sticky on hot days or hide the wood grain.
