is like half the weight of any legit Dell Charger I've ...
Bought this with the intention of using it as the charger that's permanently plugged in at my desk at home, and saving the the legit Dell charger for travel. This generic charger worked without issue for a few months, then I got a bootup message complaining about the voltage of the charger. After that, I stopped using the charger and started using the legit Dell charger instead. So yea, I'd say in retrospect it would have been worth paying a bit more for a legit Dell charger. This generic charger btw, is like half the weight of any legit Dell Charger I've ever come across, so even though the housing looks like a Dell OEM charger, the guts are definitely not the same as a legit Dell charger.

It works, but it's a gamble whether it will add charge or not.
I've ordered this charger from Amazon before, probably 4 times over the past 5 years. Dell charges $80+ for an official one and their chargers tend to bend right where it plugs into my laptop, messing up the wires until it stops working. Amazon's chargers may not be "official," but they're cheap and they keep my laptop from dying until I'm ready to give in and buy another Dell. It's always a gamble whether it will actually add charge to my laptop, or just keep it at the exact same charge. I got lucky, this one does charge my laptop just as well as the official one, but from experience, they don't usually last for more than 6 months. I've never bought one that simply didn't work at all. I've had this charger for about 2 months now and it still works great, but sometimes I have to adjust the cord a little to get it to add charge, rather than just keeping the charge where it is. I'm very happy with this charger, this time around anyways.

I do not like that the power cable between the power supply box ...
I have used this type of replacement for several years on three different Dell Latitudes. This my first experience with the 90W version.I have had no problems with it charging my refurbished Latitude E6410 over a year and one half period. I do not like that the power cable between the power supply box is not as long as Dell's. It has caused multiple falls to the floor. The box is taped together because of multiple bounces off the floor. One came with the above laptop when I received it. I had a great deal of trouble getting the touchpad to work. The cursor would even jump around the screen without my input to the pad. The seller and I worked for the better part of a month trying to solve this, including installing different drivers. Finally I noticed that the touchpad worked fine if the power supply was disconnected. The power supply was replaced free when I reported it and that seemed to solve the problem. However from time to time the erratic cursor returned. For a while, I would turn the hot power supply box over in hopes that cooling it would solve the problem which it did. I have now learned that just moving the orientation of the box does the same thing, so it is not a heating problem as such, but perhaps some type of electro-radiation interaction between the power supply or its cables with the computer. Whatever is happening, just changing the position of the power supply box settles the cursor down for and hour or two. The improvement is immediate, before cooling can take place in the box.I notice a complaint in this blog about the power supply not being recognized as adequate for the laptop. My experience has shown that it can com from a partial disconnection of either the line input to the box or of the supply line at the laptop. Checking the connections immediately stops that message from recurring.

I wouldn't say terrible, they got the job done.
They are seriously lighter than the OEM Dell power supplies, and they do run a little warmer than expected. However, they did charge my Dell E6410 and D620 Latitudes. Both have extended batteries and charged them in no time at all. I've sold a few laptops with these replacement chargers and haven't had a customer return them saying they quit charging or working. Will order again for most Dell Laptops that come in now.9/10 would buy agian.

but it makes this terrible buzzing sound when it is plugged into the wall ...
Works in that it charges your laptop, but it makes this terrible buzzing sound when it is plugged into the wall and not into your computer. Guess its a great unexpected feature in that it helps you conserve energy by unplugging when it's not in use? I purchased 3 in one go and had the same experience with all of them. I don't mind putting up with it for the cost though.

Power cord is way too short.
While the power supply works just fine, the cord that connects the bulky power block to your computer is only 43 inches long. This is WAY TOO SHORT. You end up sitting on a couch or on your bed with the power block being lifted into the air by the connector in the back of your laptop! The power block is also MUCH bigger than the last one I had (which did burn out).

Not a lot of money but still a waste.
Stopped working after I was outside the Amazon return window but still only 2 months after purchase. My Inspiron 1440 stopped recognizing the charger and it therefore would not charge. Tried several different batteries but same result. Also tried on my wife's 1440 and same result. Not a lot of money but still a waste.

Money Saver
Have been using this charger for about a month now and the only difference I can see between it and the OEM piece is the blue light ring around the plug is not there. Oh well, I never saw that since it was in the back of the laptop and I know it is working because of the little battery icon in the system tray. Saved about $35 over the Dell replacement, so I am very happy with this item.
