GRIM CONDITIONS, AGONIZING CHOICES
Los Angeles in the near future, barely a year after The Arrival. A high wall surrounds, inhabitants subjected to strict rule. Drones, redcapped military, curfews and strict penalties all deter opposition.. As ever in such a situation, there is the choice to comply or rebel. What, though, if resistance only makes matters worse?Focus is on the Bowman family, headed by Will and Katie (Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies). At first they seem happy enough., but all is far from well. What has become of son Charlie? Will current circumstances tear the family apart?Expect to be perplexed, for a lot mystifies. (After all, one of the creators was also responsible for "Lost".) Who are these invaders, they curiously not evident? How do they communicate? How much of the world has been affected?Such vagueness may initially irritate, but gradually the series takes hold - helped by strong central performances, including Peter Jacobson's wily Governor Snyder The early death of a prominent character (my favourite one actually) increases apprehension about what may happen to others - a ploy to ensure tension ever mounts.Unusually there is no clear distinction drawn between the good and bad. Freedom fighters or terrorists? Much depends on one's point of view. Throughout history right up to today, so many have had to decide to conform or oppose. Admittedly, as yet, no aliens have been involved - but sadly never a shortage of ruthless leaders determined to subject whole populations to their will.Ten episodes, they increasingly exciting. A bonus describes how the series came about and how special effects (like that wall and a Los Angeles without cars) were achieved. Cast are invited to say how they would react in similar circumstances - their answers interestingly varied.Welcome a thought-provoking series with no easy answers.

Great series - more please.
Another great TV series that few have heard of, though it's interesting to see where one of the "Lost" team has ended up... Very entertaining, well-worth buying and good for two or three episodes at a time - so when will Season Two be ready for release...? Note to whichever TV or movie company made this series - great job, please consider the simple fact that if you sack all but one of your accountants, you'll save enough in otherwise wasted salaries to pay for Season Two...!

Outstanding Sci-fi
Outstanding sci-fi. Having seen all 3 series I'm watching them again after less than a year. And they are excellent. How people deal with the moral dilemmas of an alien occupation. You replace "alien" with "Russian" and can still imagine a similar array of coping strategies. The aliens are almost never shown. This is exceptionally well done.

Very entertaining!
If you like Lost, you will enjoy this. It races along in a similar kind of way and offers little snipbits in each episode to keep you guseesing about what is really going on. Not one dull moment- except maybe a bit two much soppy stuff with the main characters in the first episode.I hope they bring out series two soon!I won't describe the plot, as the other reviewers have done that well already.

Fairly well written plot that reveal things over time
Entertaining 10x40min episodes.Since much of it's charm is revealed over time, I will not make a spoiler and tell anything. If to give it a five star I would wish for more effort to make you care about individuals - a bit cliché approach.If/when season 2 is down below £10, I might go for it.

Like home front game
Good choice it's made by an homefront wannabe where guys in face masks assault some place and look for someone ask him to work for them

First rate, totally engrossing
A first rate series, totally engrossing. Looking forward to season 2. (Do not confuse with THE colony season 1 & 2 which is an entirely different series or the film of that name). And for the record, would not be part of the resistance but maybe collaborator if they put enough pressure on, Otherwise just keep my head down.
