My favorite Gundam series so I am a bit biased. This DVD is pretty much what I wanted. Everything about it is very acceptable. Nothing really stood out as being excellent but there was nothing really wrong either. I watched the Japanese dub with English subtitles. I liked the subtitles, they were bold and big enough to read without getting int he way of the action. I am quite happy with this set. If you've got a burning love or are a man of destiny you'll enjoy this set. It has some neat extras like Japanese promos and credit less intros and outros.

Just like any Gundam series set in the UC universe, it is very gripping, and as usual, you get to see how both sides believe they are fighting for the right side. A good tween OVA to branch Gundam and Z Gundam! Everything is great to behold with your eyes, and it's on Blu-Ray so everything has been cleaned up for its release there. This won't disappoint.

Great series until the final episode where everything falls apart. I liked the characters for the most part, aside from Nina and I don’t believe I’m the only one who was put off by her character and her actions toward the end if the series.

0083 serves to fill in the gaps between the original Mobile Suit Gundam and it's sequel Zeta Gundam. 3 years after the end of the One Year War, Zeon holdouts steal a prototype gundam armed with a nuclear warhead as part of Operation Stardust. The ultimate goal of this operation is to damage earth's food supply by dropping another colony onto it. This series of events is taken advantage of by extremists within the the Federation who use the political and military fallout to seize power and eventually form the Titans, the brutal and ruthless antagonists of Zeta Gundam. While two antagonists from Zeta do make cameo appearances, the series does not require you to be familiar with Zeta to follow what transpires. It also gives a satisfying explanation for how the Federation so drastically changed between the events of Gundam and Zeta Gundam.

First copy I've recieved the first disc wouldn't load, and then I immediately request a replacement and they can't get it out to me for 5 days (when I will be out of town on a trip)

This is a really great transfer. You can see every detail in the art and all of the imperfections of the original film (like smudges or film grain). The 5.1 Japanese audio track makes great use of surround sound, using every channel. Dialogue will sometimes even come from the rear speakers.

Fantastic Gundam series for the late 90’s. Think Top Gun, but with the gundam universe and how terrorism gets tied into the story and it’s amazing for a anime.Wish they’d come out with more series like this

I've been always been a fan of the odd series from the vast Gundam universe where there's an unique character even though story wise may not end in a good way. Or just have a plain gundam ending it's nice to see Gundam 0083, on blu ray right Stuf production department treated the series carefully. Then just rushing it to be available ASAP which I've seen funimation had extreme problems with a lot of negative feedback from fans.If you are a Anime fan whom enjoys This Classic Gundam 0083 series pick up a a copy.

It's pricy, I mean all Gundam Blu-rays are. But for that price you get everything; all episodes, all languages, the short films, the theatrical release plus a great, vibrant image. Those old DVD rips didn't cut it any more. Pick it up if you like Gundam and can afford it.

私は、このブルーレイを買わせて頂いたのですが、注意せず買ってしまいました。それは、効果音が昔のものではないということです。旧DVDBOXは昔の効果音(ガンダムのビームライフルの音など)は、普通の音源でしたが、このブルーレイは、新たに再編集され、ビームライフルの音やザクの歩く音、爆発音などが新規に再編集されていて、とても見ていられませんでした。結局、私は、DVDBOXを買うことになってしまい、後悔しています。もし、「昔の効果音が好き！」という方がいらっしゃれば、こちらは買わない方が良いと思われます。それでも、「効果音なんか関係ないよ」「効果音が変わっても0083が好き！」という方は買って損はないかと思われます。私みたいな経験を皆さんがなさらないように、ここにレビューをさせていただきたいと思います。
