Photographer's Formulary New Cyanotype Printing Kit, Makes 50 8 x 10 Prints

Works quite well. Succinct instructions. I'm using this on Rives BFK heavy weight cream paper. For the prints in the image I exposed the paper / chemical for 13 minutes, in the morning sunlight, with shadows cast from plants in my garden.

Bought for an Alt. Processes class. I was a little skeptical at first since you have to mix it yourself, but it was easy and it worked great!

I overpaid for this. The sizes are small.

I remember doing "solar prints" as a kid and I wanted to try doing a cyanotype print on a large piece of cloth. So I was thrilled to find this kit on Amazon. I thought it was just the ticket. Unfortunately I purchased the New Cyanotype Printing Kit, thinking "newer is better."I called Photographer's Formulary up for advice, and they were quite nice and helpful. But they told me that the new formulation is not really suitable for cloth. Apparently it makes much less solution than the old kit so you just cant make enough to cover fabric. I cant really fault them, I just wish the product description stated that it was only suitable for paper printing.Im not sure if the old formulation is for sale here- its not clear in the product description for the other cyanotype kit. So I just thought I'd let you know!

As a photography major we have the learn different types of process, that where Photographer's Formulary New Cyanotype Printing Kit came in! Just wonderful, messy but fun! Great for a family project with the kids (adult supervision please as there are some dangerous chemicals), or if you just want to try a new style of print photographs. I made up a few extra sheets when getting them ready to print on for class, so that I could do this will my niece and she absolutely loved it! Happy Photography with this Kit!
