Habistat Reptile Radiator, 75 Watt

I've used these radiators in my vivs for years now, they're very reliable and I've always preferred having the heat source seperate to a light source so I can dial in the heat more accurately with a thermostat. Heat mats aren't always an option if you have a burrower.Seller was great, arrived the next day, well packaged.

Effective at maintaining an ambient temperature in smaller vivaria. I would get a guard to cover it, just in case. Use with a pulse proportional thermostat. Try to maintain the lowest temperature your animal wants in its environment. Mostly, I keep mine set to 18 degrees Celsius. Keeps the energy bills down while guaranteeing your animal won't freeze to death in winter!

Recently my adult corn passed and I had the vivarium free to move my young Royal python in. Where the temperatures were fine for my corn they would not be suitable for my royal and this left me with a choice, goto ceramic heaters or IR. It was only when browsing for setup ideas for a ceramic bulb did I stumble across this being mentioned.I had a quick scour of the net and could not find much being said, apart from people singing their praises. I opted for this and a guard as they are low profile and cannot be seen from outside of the Viv, (Using a vivexotic 36 , older style with many vents, so I think this has a slightly taller hidden ceiling.)Set up using a hi-range pulse stat, been running for <5 hours and already the surface temp of my hot spot is 90degress with the aspen bedding sitting at 85 , this will come up. The air temperature is noticeably warm, unlike when using heat mats.As for the product, I feel the price is fair, it looks good i.e. hidden out of sight and appears to work as I require.It does smell, a rancid plastic chemically smell, which should go with time apparently.Very easy to fit with the included self tapping screws, holds on the roof with no problems.Less than impressed with the packaging of the item, supplied in a plain white cardboard box with a large printed stuck on label from prorep. Inside the panel is loose and dumped in the box with the mounting screws, I mean really would a small ziplock back to contain 4 small screws be that much of an expense?As usual, great service with a quick dispatch from Amazon themselves.

These work well when they work, I have had the odd faulty one that doesn't get hot but otherwise a great heater, I have 8!
