Subtle humour in a parochial setting, but has depth and detail.
I first came across this series on terrestrial UK television many many years ago and still had fond memories of it. So I was pleasantly surprised to see it on Amazon. I started off watching series one about a year ago and have been watching it at the rate of an episode a day for since then.So this is a review appears for Season 13, because I have bought and watched all previous 12 seasons. They were all well worth it. The humour is gentle and subtle, in a universe that is believable in its own way and stands quite apart from all the other cartoons that I have come across. You have to be willing to 'put up' with the exclusively suburban, small town Texan setting and Hank's love for propane, but that level of parochialness adds to its interest in my opinion. Over the series each of the different characters is fleshed out and a back story added. You get to all many different facets of live in the imaginary town of Arlen.

HD & SD KOTH
Actually this was a accidental purchase, as I was scrolling down the page I hit the purchase SD option by mistake. But having brought the full season on Amazon Instant it reminded why I loved this show so much. I have only watched a few episodes of this final season but it is great quality show plus it goes into widescreen fro episode 8 onwards (why they didn't do it earlier is mystery). KOTH is an infectious fun and joy to watch that I have now purchased the full seasons of Season 11 & 12 on amazon instant and they are great (although only Season 12 & 13 are presented with Dolby 5.1 - which is the mix the show was made - but the other seasons aren't). Also I noticed the other seasons are in SD only, considering it ain't availiable on blu ray it is nice to have streaming HD copies where availiable.

Great show finally back on region 2
I love King Of The Hill and bought the fort 6 seasons on dvd when they came out. Sadly they were discontinued on region 2 for a long time after that. 7 seasons completely blocked off for European buyers. Thankfully they've appeared again and are well worth the money of you're a fan of the show.

In the final season the show moves to widescreen and we see Dale try to live like Bear Grylls
The Final Season comes to DVD. I never thought we'd have the full run of King Of The Hill on DVD so thanks to Medium Rare Entertainment for releasing the remaining 8 seasons. In the final season the show moves to widescreen and we see Dale try to live like Bear Grylls, Hank gets into a war with a neighbour over Independence day decorations, Luanne brings back The Manger Babies, and in the season finale Bobby impresses Hank by finding he has a talent for inspecting and distinguishing cuts of beef.

Brilliant Final Series
A Great Final Series of King Of The Hill, I'm so glad the story writers to finish on such a high and didnt drag the series on and on like some similar American series. I really enjoyed watching all the episodes i have all the series on dvd and this one has got to be up there as one of the strongest series of King Of The Hill. Brilliant 5 Stars +++
