Description
- These are BARE ROOTED plants which can be planted from the end of October until May and will be dispatched as soon as the weather turns cold and they become dormant. The dispatch date depends on the Autumn temperature and varies from year to year.
- Victoria is a versatile plum tree, producing fruit which can be eaten, used for cooking and for jams.It produces a heavy crop which often needs to be thinned if fruits are to be produced each year. Left to its own devices the sheer weight of fruit may well break the branches of the tree.
- Harvest between Mid-August to late September. If you are growing only one fruit tree, then this is the one to plant. It is self fertile and will pollinate with any other variety of plum. Trees are grown on St Julien A rootstock which will grow to 10-12ft max
- As with all trees from the prunus family, the leaves will start to appear autumnal and slightly shabby from mid July onwards. This is not a disease, but is mainly due to this years contrasting weather conditions and will not affect the performance of the tree.
