A short mail-order bride story that makes you think. This story is not a feel-good candy fix for the afternoon. It is so much more.So grab a cup of chocolate. A fluffy, soft blanket and settle down for a memorable read with likable characters. I would love to see this story expanded in a full-blown novel instead of the short read that it provided.The story will catch you up and leave you wanting more—in a good way. [Not a cliff-hanger.]

This is a sweet and delightful story about Kathleen. Her parents have died, and she has no money. Her aunt is going to take her younger sister while she becomes a mail order bride. She travels to Montana to meet her husband to be, Tristan shortly before Christmas. They must learn to overcome obstacles together and to trust one another putting the past behind. I really enjoyed this wonderful reminder of what marriage can be when we put our hearts into making it the best for the both of us.

Kathleen is left alone to take care of her younger sister. She places an add for marriage and Tristan answers it. He is a miner and spends all day in the mine. Kathleen is not sure she has made the right decision. Christmas is coming and she misses her family.

This a warm and tender tale of woman trying to adapt to a life that is rather solitary and lonely. Her husband does not initially help because he is not sure of how to help her and goes about his day as if she is not there. Tristan's mother is a work of disparity and whatever anger lays in her heart needs love. The only problem with this story is that it doesn't deal with Tristan's mother's anger.

This is a sweet romance. Kathleen's parents was killed. Before that they were making plans to go west. Her father was a writer. Her sister would be going to live with her Aunt Natalia. She was In a letter to support the cattle and large estate left to them. She put and ad to find a male order groom. He wrote and agreed to send money for Mary. Will this family survive the separation and will Kathleen learn to love her new husband? I enjoyed this story.

This story is a nice romance that quietly, gently unfolds in a realistic way. I would give it 4 stars but, it is short and the characters and settings weren't developed as well as a good, longer story would have done. I enjoyed Emma Morgan's short novel and will read more of her offerings. I recommend this book.

A very good story about a young woman that is a mail order bride lonely for her family finding love

This was a good book to read and I could even feel the cold of winter winds and snow that the author told about..I would have liked the story to be a little bit longer and tell about the 2 sisters meeting..but still a good read.

Kathleen’s parents die a sickness took them leaving her and her younger sister. She has her sister move in with her Aunt and she travels out to marry Tristan.He has had an argument with his mother who is a widow.Tristan works hard in the mines leaving Kathleen alone.I enjoyed reading this book. I’m disappointed that they didn’t mend the relationship with Tristan’s mother before the end.Clean romance

It is short, but has depth of feelings. Most of us have had to suffer changes that didn't go ad expected. In this story, at least it looks like things will be good in the end. Warmth and "home" can come in many guises. A nice afternoon read.
