Umaibo Mentai 30pcs Japanese Snack DAGASHI Japan

I bought these after a recommendation from a friend. They are like monster munch, but tube shaped and I'd estimate that 2 are the equivalent of one packet of monster munch but with a lot more flavour!

The mentai flavor is my favorite from all the Umaibo varieties I have tasted so far.For those who don't know what 'mentai' is - it is a salty, minimal spicy, slightly fishy flavor based on the dish "Karashi Mentaiko" (spiced/seasoned roe of alaskan pollock - it's a type of cod)I usually can't eat spicy food, but this is fairly mild and the overall flavor is very savory.The "best before date" on my pack is July of this year, so they still got 4 months.I'd give it 5 stars all the way, if this wasn't so expensive over here.I understand that importing food from other countries is not a cheap business, but considering that one Umaibo stick in Japan costs 10 Yen at every corner shop...So 300 Yen for a pack of 30 pieces - that's less than 2 british pound.So all in all, 15 pound is a hefty price to pay for your favorite cheap dagashi snack :(

I got addicted to these on my last trip to Takayama, so glad I found a supplier. Many thanks and very good delivery times, will buy again.
