Pen is gorgeous and a MUST HAVE for ALL PEN FREAKS!
The Pilot Hi-Tec-C Maica Gel Ballpoint Pen, Brown, Fine (LHM-15C4-BN) is gorgeous. Though not a high end pen made of hefty materials, the shape and emblem is impressive. The COLOR in brown is just plain love. It's a coppery tone or butterscotch if you prefer color as "eye candy". This pen writes very smoothly and fits in my hand nicely. I do have smaller hands, I'm female. However, I feel it can be used by all. I'm looking forward to getting all the colors in this line. Delivery was fairly quick. I am concerned that the pen came in a flimsy envelope with light padding. Perhaps, wrapping the pen further would've been a safer choice. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and experience. And even more grateful to have the ability to purchase this. Thank you!

Very Nice Brown Pen!
Really enjoy this pen - the brown color is great and a nice break from black and blue ink. I do a lot of document reviews and note-taking galore at work, so it's super helpful in providing a visual distinction. And, it's nice on the eyes . . . sounds silly, but the brown ink is both a more optically and mentally soothing hue. Believe it or not, I have had coworkers remark on it with envy! Yes, I am apparently a pen trend setter. However, I wish 2 things - that it was a 0.5 tip (not 0.4), and it had a clip (for hooking onto a planner or handbag pocket.)Came from overseas to US, so took a little bit of a wait, but completely understandable. It writes well - no skipping ink. Will likely repurchase.

Great for sketching with washes
This is probably the finest point (0.4 mm) brown pen I have found on the market (not including crow quill nibs). The brown ink is great for sketching people and it is fully waterproof so you can lay on watercolor washes on top of your line work. Since the line quality is so fine it is more forgiving when you are doing delicate renderings. The line width is similar to a 00 technical pen. Also, the needle-like point is similar to a technical pen as it has some length to it; good with templates. I just wish they were less expensive and more widely available here in the USA.

Nice, fine pen.
It's a very nice pen. It has a needle tip, which doesn't feel as smooth at this size, but allows for some very precise writing. The grip is a little uncomfortable if you hold your pen higher up, as the ridge that holds the cap on the pen is very sharp (in the sense that it's distinct, not actually knife sharp) and may not feel pleasant on your hands. It writes rather smoothly for a pen at this size, although it's definitely scratchier than some 0.7mm pen.

Elegant Fine Line Writing and Comfortable for 'Lefties'
I just received this pen today and must say it has quickly become my favorite pen for greeting cards, gift cards - anything where an elegant, fine line is desired. The ink is a pleasant brown (not orangy or rust colored). I am left-handed and I had no problem with skipping ink or smearing while writing. I'm very happy with this pen.

Nice fine point takes a minute to write cleanly
I use this pen in my bullet journal. I really like the color but I think because it is such a fine point it does not always give a clean line right away. It always writes but usually takes a minute for the ink to come out nicely. I don't think it is the paper. Other pens write nicely and this one will too after a minute or two.

Excellent Product!
One of the best writing instruments I ever bought!! As a retired teacher, I know a thing or two about pens. This one writes so smoothly, never skipping. The ink flow is perfect. My only complaint is that it took about 6-8 weeks for delivery! But it was worth the wait.

LOVE writing with this pen!
I absolutely love the fine line and the smooth action of this pen. It almost makes taking notes at a long meeting fun! What I quickly write seems so much more legible when I use a fine point pen. There have no globs of ink and no smears. How much did I really love it? Enough to purchase the 12-pack of different colors.

falsely advertised - it's bling bling but poo poo.
I did not not receive a hi tec c but a 'G tec' so am a bit cross at that. Japan still makes hi tec c pens with aluminium pen cases for it all over kickstarter. That piqued my interest and think it's not cool to sell it as a Hi tec when it's a g tech. I don't know what the difference is, but bloggers love the hi tec version, which is why I bought this. Unfortunately, It's a bit scratchy and too thin. I think I'll prefer a pen with more substance, definitely more smooth. Looks-wise, it's great. Really nice looking pen, but I was disappointed in the writing.. Glad I didn't go for .3 nib. . I love gel ink pens that are smooth with a bite, like uniball. I was hoping to love this Pen then get the set, but I won't now. :0(

Finer than I thought!
When they said in the reddit forums that this pen was fine, it's no joke. It's a pretty fine tipped gel pen. But what I like with the pen is that it would take a lot of water in order for the ink to wash off the page. It's fairly water resistant for a gel pen. As in, if I were writing and water spilled across the pages, I could mop it up with the expectation that I still could see some words on the page. Some people might find the pen tip a bit too fine though, it scratches across the paper when writing, but the ink has good flow. It would be good for illustration work, cross hatching and such, and when you write with it, you don't have to wipe at the tip for the ink. I like it, to the point where, when finished, I'd buy it again, no joke.

Very Thin, Good Flow, Ink Goes very Quickly
I usually use uniball eye needle micro, however on lesser quality paper it can bleed and draws a slightly thicker line. This pen is very thin and has good ink flow. If you don't like scratchy pens, perhaps a soft nib would be better.... [edit] changed from 5 to 4 star... pen arrived 28th September, it is now 6th November... after regular but intermittent use, the ink has nearly gone. I can actually watch the level drop over a page or two of notes.

Not quite up to the Hi-Tec-C standard
I already had a Maica in brown and really like it so as Blue Black is a favourite ink colour I wanted this version. Sadly it does have a slight tendancy to foul up at the tip unlike the brown model and reguler Hi-Tec-C pens. Not unusable but loses a star because of that. However I do like the Maica barrel design and the cute little 'jewel' mounted in the cap. It hasa loop to hang charms off (this model is primarily marketed towards women in Japan). And when it works okay the colour is nice.
