Description
- The Savoiardi , which take their name from the original region of Savoy, are sweet and light biscuits with a very crumbly and spongy consistency. The shape, a flattened cylinder with rounded edges, resembles a large finger and for this reason, in English, they are called lady fingers.
- Savoiardi are one of the main ingredients for Tiramisù, and in the Neapolitan culinary tradition, during the carnival period, they are dipped in black pudding.
- Tiramisu is a traditional Italian dessert, whose origins are often disputed between the regions of Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Piedmont. It is a spoon dessert based on ladyfingers dipped in coffee, mascarpone, eggs and sugar.
