it works very well with my camera and I am pleased. my only critique is in this world of tech could it have been made more compact and still maintain the same results?

🔦Reliable and Compact, but Limited in Power🔦
🔶I've been using the Sony HVL F32M flash for the past four years, and it’s become a staple on my Sony a6400. Overall, it's been a reliable companion with some notable strengths and a few limitations.✅Strengths✅The HVL F32M is well-built and integrates seamlessly with Sony’s camera system. The controls are straightforward, making it accessible for users of various skill levels. Its compact design is a plus, as it doesn't add much bulk to the camera setup. For general use, it provides adequate performance and consistent results.⭕Limitations⭕However, the flash does have its drawbacks. The power output is on the lower side, which can be limiting in larger spaces or for demanding lighting situations. The recycling time is also slower compared to newer flashes, which can be an issue when you need to capture fast-moving subjects or shoot quickly in succession. Additionally, it lacks some of the advanced features and flexibility found in more modern flashes, such as advanced TTL metering, which might be a downside for those seeking more precise control.🔵Summary🔵Sony HVL F32M has served me well with its solid performance and ease of use, but its limitations in power and advanced features might prompt some users to consider newer options if they need more from their flash.

Good piece of kit.
It's a flashgun for a nice Sony camera. It works well. Probably not a lot else to say - but if you're going for a Sony flash this is reasonably priced.

Small light and versatile
Brilliant flash gun for my Sony A7Rii. Works straight out the box with minimum setup whilst also giving you the opportunity to configure it in many ways.

This is my first flash unit and all I can say is that it exceeded all my expectations.

It's great, but doesn't have to be so expensive.
The technology and build quality probably warrants a £160 max - at a push. It's actually perfect for use and the build is excellent and sturdy, but severely overpriced for the technology. Does not include batteries.
