Not just a 'Kids' Game
Disney Infinity is a great title to play, This is coming from an adult player with no children, i didn't buy it to be played with children in mind. I bought it for it's interesting concept. First of sure the figure aspect is the same as Skylanders, but that is where the comparisons end. Disney Infinity is entirely different once inside and exploring it's content.Obviously the starter pack is the best way (and only at the moment) way to play. You get the three starter figures which are very charismatic and filled with charm, and match the in-game models perfectly, it truly feels like you see the figure itself represented on screen. Inside you also get a random Power Disk which grant special things while in the games Toy Box mode, which is it's own level maker/editor! Which is crammed with content and possibility. There are three types of Power Disk, The red circle disks grant power-ups such as attack boost/more health etc which can be used inside the playsets (I'll mention later) and Toy Box, then there is orange hexagonal which are classed as 'Toys' for use within the Toy Box, and are based on various things from Disney movies such as Cinderella's Carriage (Which plays the song "A Dream is a wish your heart makes" while riding) or Stitch's Blaster which is the same gun used by the character in the movie. Finally you have purple hexagonal disks that add themes to the level you're making. For example place the "Marlon's Reef" disk on the base and your toy box background changes to a seascape and plays music from Finding Nemo. The extra packets themselves are blind packaged, so be aware if you buy them this way, you will eventually get doubles, but there's always other sites you can buy individual disks from. The best thing about Toy Box, is that it can be played online with up to 4 players. Finally there's the playsets which are based on the worlds from the Movies, the starter set comes with The Incredibles, Pirates & Monsters University included, so you get three individual games to play, Incredibles is more about battling robots and going about the town with various objectives, Pirates is more action adventure, with sword fighting, exploring and Pirate ship battles (Similar to naval battles from Assassin's Creed 3) and Monsters University is very objective based, and resolves around taking down the rival university (there's a great Paintball mini game in this one) There are also 3 other playsets that you have to buy seperate, Based on Cars, The Lone Ranger & Toy Story in Space, Which the latter is out in October. The only gripe with the Playsets as there is no online mode, so if you want to play two player the only option is split screen local play, and characters CAN NOT cross over, so Sully will not work in Pirates, so if you plan on playing two player, pick up the Sidekicks/Villains Pack to be able to play multiplayer on all three starter playsets. While it's a very pricey concept, it's worth buying into for at least the starter pack, The Toy Box mode offers a depth of content and can become the pinnacle feature of this game. The playsets themselves are very fun, but don't come with a lot of depth to them, they can be completed in 4-7 hours but can take longer if you go for every single collectible and complete all challenges. It's a worthwhile game to look into even if you are an adult, don't let the 'Child friendly' Disney brand put you off.. there's a lot on offer for everyone.

The Kids Love it, My Wallet Doesn't
Disney Infinity is a great game for the kids, they can either complete one of the 3 adventures included in the starter pack, or simply play in the virtual toy box. My only issue is that the game is designed so that there is enormous pressure to buy more figures to unlock items or levels. Once additional figures have been bought, they can only be used in the toy box, or in their specific adventure if there is one.You cant play as Mr Incredible in the Pirates adventure, and if you want to play 2 player in Pirates, you need to buy another figure :(

Takes time to learn but the options are endless
I bought this for my son and I love concept of this (and Skylanders) where the playable characters are interchangeable. I looked at both this and Skylanders but eventually went for what appeared be the more considered Disney world as opposed to the blood and thunder of Skylanders. The starter pack comes with 3 starter figures (Sully from Monsters Inc, Mr Incredible and Cpt. Jack Sparrow) which are well represented on screen when you're playing the game. You can play the playset game of the character you are using or set up and build your own world in Toy Box mode. Personally I like the ToyBox because the options to build and play your own world are endless. So far my son prefers the playing the more structured game but, as a say above, he's still only 5.The ways in which you can expand the game and the Infinity experience are multiple too. You can add to a character's powers buy buying Power Disks and you can add different characters to play with (we have bought Mike from Monsters Inc already so that 2 players can play Sully and Mike in the Monsters playset). Obviously the Disney back catalogue is huge to the options here are pretty well unlimited. Obviously the additions all come at a cost but it also makes this perfect for any future birthdays or christmas and additional gift.

Awful customer service!
I bought this game for my son. We got it on a Saturday and tried to play. After setting up an infinity account - not something made clear as essential to play game - the game will not play! The customer service number supplied is only for game play (found out after waiting 20 mins on phone). All enquiries have to go through the infinity website. There is only a submission form - no other contact details. Having filled in the submission form the reply was deafening silence! It is now 5 days post installation and activation but it is still unplayable and there is no way to get it sorted! My advice if you buy this game and it doesn't work - tough you have just paid for some very expensive and poor quality figurines!!!

Great fun
Great game and is for any age group in my opinion. This starter pack is the best out of all the games because you get 3 character and a power disc which is very cool. It is a very fun game and is like skylanders but with Disney characters and scenes such as monsters inc, pirates of the Caribbean, toy story and the incredibles. Characters are quite cheap now and most are around £5-7 from what iv seen. Plus all the characters from this game can be carried over to the new ones! Although they cannot be used for the stories in the game!! Just for exploring the toy box which is where you just run around finding things and creating your own Disney world.
