Nice item. Worth the Money, Great for playing your Vinyl !!!!
Good piece of Kit, looks Nice, only fault I could find is that when it's on Auto stop the turntable cuts off without finishing the record!!! But when when you switch off auto stop it plays the whole record, but the turntable keeps running!!! Play it through my Hifi, Sounds Great, takes me back to the Great days of Music. Well worth the Money. Thanks !!!!

Basic and brilliant
This is a budget item so dont expect the best sound. Its small, portable and easy to use and its been fun putting some old records to the laptop. It can be powered by the usb plug or usb connection to the laptop/PC which is also for easy recording. Use Audacity if its already on there. For the price inc P&P this is a good second player.

Thin and tinny - avoid and buy a £5 second hand deck instead
I bought this to replace an old Bush MTT1 player which I recently dug out of the loft. I found it when tidying up and bought some new vinyls to listen to, loved it, and thought I’d upgrade for a nicer looking and hopefully better quality deck (the Bush skips terribly and needs a 2p to hold the tone arm down). However, the sound from this Ion Compact is awful. It is tinny and thin, and the poor quality is abundantly clear when comparing to the Bush. Make no mistake - the Bush is also a poor quality deck and you can pick one up for £5 second hand. But the difference is stark. The sound from the Ion is unenjoyable and thin - the sound from a £5 second hand 20 year old Bush is warm and punchy and made me reconnect with vinyl records.I have owned this for less than an hour, but will be complaining and returning immediately.

Works just great
Connects instantly to Linux (of course), with Audacity sound-through enabled on pause/record... good to come across such a minimal just-right design that is so cool... features: none, it just works perfectly

Very poor sound quality; configuration not user friendly
I bought this item when my old Sony midi size record deck finally gave up on me - it had the added benefit of MP3 capability, which meant I could do away with the equipment I used to transfer my vinyl collection into digital format . I eagerly unpacked it, then connected it to my old midi-sized hifi. First issue: the deck fitted perfectly on top but unfortunately it only fitted sideways, that is to say landscape, not portrait orientation. There was a big overhang & it didn't look very stable. Oh well. Then the sound quality - very tinny, made no difference if the deck's pre-amp was switched on or off. Unfortunately the sound quality was so poor it was not listenable. In the end I found a deck just like my old one a few days later at half the price, so all was not lost.

Good one
It does what it supposed to do, also the leather style gives a good look. Really happy about that.
