Very well made, works with Galaxy Note Pro 12" and Nexus 9
I have been using this on my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12" table, and my Nexus 9 tablet. For the Galaxy Pro, it holds the tablet in Landscape mode with almost no extra room, but it does not feel like I am over-stretching either... more like it is the functional and intentional limit. The gripping fingers do not block any of the functional parts of the table (power or volume, or cover the SPen, power, or headphones). I do not use my tablet with a cover but my guess is the Note Pro would not fit with a cover as the arms don't have a even a fraction of an inch to expand. The Nexus 9 I also use in landscape mode, but have a lot of extra room. The depth of the fingers are such that if you use a cover it should fit just fine. (again, I don't use a cover, but there is so much extra room I can't see it as a problem). For the Nexus 9, though, the fingers do press the volume buttons when you have the mound centered on the tablet. I mount it slightly off center to avoid the problem, but if you have a weak tripod that offset weight may cause issues, so your mileage may vary. The fingers are thick, and the retractable springs are tough. It holds the tablets very sturdy even when I don't push them all the way back in the bracket. I have used other similar devices for my phone in my car and worried about the gripping fingers bending with wear, but these are so tough I don't fear that at all. At the same time, the inside are soft enough I don't worry about them doing damage to the tablet's screen or enclosure either.

I have an iPad Air as well as an iPad mini and I love the cameras in them. However, trying to take decent shots while holding them still is a challenge. I was looking for a quick and easy way to use a tri-pod to hold the iPads and I found this unit. So, I decided to give it a try. Here is what I liked: 1. The mechanism is very straight forward, it uses spring tension to hold rubber runners against the iPad to keep it in place. 2. This unit works on the iPad mini (only when you clamp it on the top and bottom (vertical orientation) because the unit does not compress small enough to hold it in the horizontal plane. 3. This unit works on the iPad Air.Here is what I did not like as much: 1. The thread mount is a standard camera thread but the mount lacks the locking pin hole that keeps the unit from rotating on the tri-pod mount. So, if you do not get this VERY tight, the iPad can and will start to tilt and loosen up. This is easily fixed by drilling a small hole in the back to fit the locking pin, but the manufacturer should have done this in the first place. 2. This unit has a nice clamp on two sides, but nothing but friction keeps the iPad in place if you rotate the orientation to change from one orientation to the other. A small elastic retainer would have been nice that was adjustable. If you are careful, the unit does stay in place, it just makes me nervous doing that. 3. This does not work with the iPhone.Overall, this is a nice unit that allows you to take advantage of the capabilities of the iPad for taking great portrait or landscape pictures as long as you add the retainer hole on the mount to keep it from rotating.

Nexus 6 and Galaxy Note 2014 10.1 work great with this
This mount is very sturdy, though the sturdiness of the whole thing is only as good as your tripod.I was using what was essentially a music stand with a gooseneck on it, and this on a tripod is a vastly more stable option. This also attaches to my tablet and my phone more easily. If you have a Canon DSLR and an Android device, you can hook the two together (Google "DSLR Controller" for more info). I use this and a Smallrig LCD Monitor Shoe Adapter to mount my tablet or phone to my camera, and it works great for that.

Says works with any tablet "UP TO" 8.25" wide or tall; Absolutely does not
I think this item is probably a pretty good piece of equipment for tablets that actually fit. The tabMount is simple and sturdy. The 1/4"/20 threaded hole is metal mounted in sturdy plastic. The grasping arms are spring loaded so that the tablet is held in place by the contracting tension of a spring inside the backing piece. The spring seems to be pretty strong and the tabs that wrap around the edge of the tablet are curved and covered in rubber. I think it would do a good job of holding a tablet securely. However, it does not accomplish the main task it claims to be able to handle... mainly, accommodating ANY tablet UP TO 8.25" wide. I should also point out, looking at the mechanics and dimensions first hand, I think 8.25" is pushing it; I would call 8" the maximum dimension of a tablet it could handle.I have an LG Gpad 8.3. The tablet is too long (8.5") to allow the tabMount to hold it horizontally, and the *minimum width* of the tabMount (which is not listed in this item's description) is 5.5" (which would actually still be a little loose since that's simply the fully contracted distance from edge to edge and there would be no spring tension). The LG Gpad 8.3 is only 5" wide, and thus the tabMount will not hold it. To reiterate, it is "too big" in one direction, and "too small" in the other. Thus, I have to go through the hassle of returning an item that didn't work for me because the listing is incorrect (claiming to accommodate ANY tablet up to 8.25" wide).Disappointed to say the least. I would have really liked to use this specific item, and there don't seem to be any similar items available that would accommodate my device.

Simple, compact, lightweight, and sturdy
Are you several of these tablets and phones and we are grateful addition as a travel because of their size and weight One is over-year-old and remains as good today as it was when I purchased. This is a great product that can be adapted to a gooseneck clamp for using in any vehicle or even on an airplane

This doesn't work with my Samsung Tab3 as the camera ...
This doesn't work with my Samsung Tab3 as the camera is in the middle of the tablet and is blocked by the bracket.
