It's the same as the previous edition
How to Master the UKCAT: 600+ Practice Questions, is not a bad book, although it contains some mistakes. Anyway, it is almost the same as the previous edition: the only difference is the structure and the order in which the questions appear. In addition, there are some contradictions in some answers the author provides. Finally, it gives you an idea about the UKCAT format, but I think it's a bad copy of the 2010 edition.

This book is riddled with mistakes, ambiguity, inconsistency and self-contradiction.

Don't bother buying
There are a lot of things wrong with this book..1) Verbal Reasoning passages are way too short. Also, a lot of mistakes with the answers. For example the answers don't correspond with the text in a lot of cases and some answers are said to be false but should be can't tell etc.2) The decision analysis questions at the start don't correspond to the types of question that will be in the actual test. They generally don't use words such as 'akin' etc. the actual test will be more like the mini tests they provide in the book.3)The first load of questions in decision analysis (which are useless anyway)don't have any answers and the questions in the mini tests that do correspond with the actual test don't have any answers that correspond at all with any questions. So unable to mark yourself.4) In the quantitative reasoning section, some of the answers are wrong again. It could be useful to do these questions but rely on your own maths skills to work the answers out outside of any time pressures you set yourself.5) I found a few questionable answers in the abstract reasoning but other than that I found those questions helpful.I'd recommend the online preparation that you can buy access to for 2 weeks/ a month etc. They give you more of a feel for the real exam although quite expensive.

Very poor book
This book is awful! Many of the answers to the questions in all sections are wrong, the format of the questions bear little resemblance to those found in the actual UKCAT exam (particularly the decision analysis and the verbal reasoning). It brings into question wether any of the authors did any research into the UKCAT before writing their book. It comes across while using it that this book was just a way to make some money off of the exam. Very unhelpful, I would recommend the other 600 questions book and the various online resources over this.

It is ok if you just want some extra questions to practise but it is not worth the money and other books are much better.
I purchased this for help with my UKCAT revision. On the first day of using it I noticed that some of the answers in the back are incorrect! Obviously It is hard to practise something when even the book gets the answers wrong. It also does not include the SJT final section of the exam. It is ok if you just want some extra questions to practise but it is not worth the money and other books are much better.

okay
okay but not all sections are representative of the ukcat-the verbal reasoning questions have changed and are not shown in this book
