Black & Decker MB-1800 18-Inch Replacement Blade For CM1836 and MM1800 Lawn Mowers

Replaces my old beat up mower blade with this factory OEM blade and my mower is good as new. Much cheaper than I could find it at any hardware store.*UPDATEI replaced these last summer and finally got the mower out again to test them just recently. I was very impressed. The biggest issue was definitely the fact that my old one had some very nasty nicks in it but even so, it is very easy to notice how much better this new one cuts. My old blade always left the dreaded long grass in the most random places! Now that I have this fresh new blade on there, even though it is a weak electric mower, it does everything a gas one would do and I am very happy and satisfied with it. The only reason I don't buy a gas mower is because our yard is so small but even so, this does a great job and I never have to worry about buying or storing gas. At this price I may replace my blade every winter so come summer I have an ice fresh one on there! I highly recommend this product!

I also ordered this blade for a MM1800 Type 2 mower and it also appears to be the wrong blade. The hole on it is larger than the hole on the original blade which came with my mower and it moves around on the bolt (for lack of a better word) you place it on on the mower. I've never owned a mower before, but I'm betting that's simply dangerous. It is also shaped completely different. The serial number on the blade, 90548199 pursuant to the Black & Deck site is only for the mower with model no. CM1836. According to Black & Decker you need serial number 243550 for a MM1800 Type 2 mower, which by the way is the same serial number on my original blade. Now I have to find a box to return these things (I bought 2 considering the price).

Pros: This blade is sharp, durable and easy to install. Cons: The replacement blade is about 1/2 inch shorter than the original; I am not sure the reason for this shorter blade but it is not a perfect size replacement for the original. Overall, the blade works perfectly, was cost effective and will probably cut for many seasons to come.

Overall, this was a great buy. Fit my CM1836 mower perfectly, the only issue I had was it was a bit dull for my liking, and had some problems with longer/overgrown grass and would get bogged down. Normal length and short grass cut just fine. I went ahead and sharpened it and it was working fine!

Five stars for design and durability! It works great for mulching grass and stays sharp longer than generic blades. It fits my electric mower perfectly and keeps my yard looking great. When it is time to sharpen this blade, it sharpens easily. Highly recommended!

After fruitlessly attempting to mow several rocks, my old blade was beyond sharpening. This blade fit my CM1836 perfectly, was easy to swap out, and is cutting like a champ. I will have no hesitation on buying it again once I manage to kill this blade off too.

The blade itself is fine as are most blades..HOWEVER.. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE>>>>Even though Amazon lists this blade as being compatible with the MM1800 mower .. IT IS NOT compatible with the MM1800 that Amazonsells here in there online store...Very annoying and inconvenient..Have to return mine.. and get an MB-075 ..The MM1800 sold here is a "type 1" this blade is for the MM1800 type 2..
