Actually works. Good for training neighbors dog. I use it on the full setting and point at barking dog and say a command in a normal voice (like "go in the house"). Eventually you can just say the command and dog will respond. You never need to shout at the dog because they never respond properly to shouting anyway and shouting is more annoying than a barking dog. It works best in line-of-sight. Doesn't seem to work through or around obstructions likes plants, trees, fences, glass, etc. Does work thru window screens. You cannot hear the device, but dogs can. Our cats can hear it too and leave the room, so sometimes I use it (briefly) when they are being purposely naughty. Just takes a click or two and cat or dog gives you its full attention. I have bought a number of these type things over the years and none have worked except this one. LED light is nice too.

Why oh why hasn't someone designed a more versatile ultrasonic animal repeller unit than the majority of those offered here on amazon?I am NOT just referring to this particular unit, but the whole group of Ultrasonic Repellers as a whole.By that I mean, these type of repellers have been around for like 10-15 years now and I have NOT seen, nor been made aware of, ANY major improvements. [Except more competitors in the marketplace and more design styles to choose from].These type devices are still more of a "One-hit-wonder" than a "One-size-fits-all".By one-hit-wonder I mean they either work on an animal or they don't. In my tests, on the majority of animals, they do NOT work.Many animals do not even acknowledge.I tested with brand new Energizer and brand new Duracell batteries and that made no difference. But it did validate that my batteries could NOT be to blame.For a couple dollars, maybe just a few pennies more, the makers of the products could ADD features that could help ENSURE a much HIGHER SUCCESS RATE.1. Automatically: an ultrasonic oscillator circuit that "SWEEPS" a range of specific range of ultrasonic frequencies that are known to "offend" many type of animal's and their hearing RANGE, thereby causing them to "back off".2. Manually: add a small digital display that indicates the frequency currently being emitted by device.3. Manually: add a manual dial, to go with the display, so you could dial in EXACT frequency of specific offending animals.4. Hybrid or using both Automatic and Manual settings: a way to toggle the frequencies up and down via either multiple buttons, OR by pressing a single button repeatedly, causing it to "step thru" various frequencies, one range after another.Consider HOW much MORE BENEFICIAL this type of device could be if it Automatically swept a "Range" of frequencies and repelled MORE offending animals.And/or Manually, if this unit displayed the frequency being emitted and you could Manually tune it, then you could be prepared for specific animals you encounter often. Like delivery or mail couriers do.

Absolutely worthless. Doesn't work at all, no effect on my neighbor's two obnoxious dogs that bark round the clock. Do not buy! Total waste of money and please read 5 star reviews with a critical eye---several look fake to me, even if they are "verified purchases".A friend lent me her sonic egg by Sunbeam, it actually works fairly well on one of my neighbor's dogs, but has absolutely no effect on the Chihuahua. It has mixed reviews here but might be worth a try.

I tried this on my neighbours little dog and it had NO effect. I was less that 15feet away pointing directly at him and he just kept barking. I tried it on both settings. He didn't even react to the blinking lights. I was so excited looking fwd 2 some relief but am so disappointed. Kinda discouraged about if these things realky work. Since I cannot hear the sound , I'm unable 2 tell if my unit is defective.

The flashlight works. But the "ultrasonic" dog training function most definitely does not. The dogs I was hoping to train with this literally just stare at me blankly when I'm pointing it at them as they continue barking. Of course the package got thrown out before I realized this, so now I'm stuck with a ridiculously expensive flashlight that doesn't do what I bought it for. Disappointing.

Bought to keep the neighbor's dog from barking. Seems to deter him when I use it, but I had to cover up the lights. I don't exactly want my neighbor thinking I'm looking into his backyard all night. Although it worked, I opted for an automatic version after a couple weeks because it was inconvenient running to the window to stop the dog from barking several times a day.

I tried other items like this and they didn't work. But this one works great (I'm not really a fan of the flashing lights) but it seems to be a common thing for these devices. I wear hearing aids and with them, I can tell when these things are working or not.Works great, Doesn't seem to harm the dogs they clam down and stop what they were doing.

Really only two dogs out of about a dozen even pay attention to this thing. I gave two stars for two dogs. I'm going to send it back. I just looked and I don't see a way to return this item. Changed to one star.

Very poor Quality. Broke on second push of button. I was very sceptic and thought this was a waist of my money , but the return process was actually good and i was notified that I would be refunded. Although the product was bad the Amazon return process gets 5 ⭐️.
