Svelte Organic Protein Shake, Cappuccino, 11 Fl Oz (Pack of 8)

Preface: I have no prior experience with protein shakes in any form. I am brand spankin' new into this whole "get in shape, take care of your body, don't be a slob" thing. After drinking the fitness podcast punch, I felt like I needed to get on the protein shake train, or at least try it out. I ordered these and was pretty much convinced they were going to taste disgusting and I'd have to choke them down. I was very pleasantly surprised. They do not taste chalky or nasty at all. The flavors were pretty light, but definitely enough to make swigging a thick drink more tasty. I like that there was a variety pack so I could sample more flavors for potential purchases. The drinks themselves last a pretty long time, chilled quickly, and stored nicely in the fridge. I like that they're more boxy square shaped, so you can really mush them all together in a small shelf. My only note, which is not going to apply to a lot of people, is that if you're on the calories in/calories out bandwagon and for whatever reason decide you want to have one, but only half, there is absolutely no way you can see into that little opening well enough to determine when you've hit the halfway mark. I know...dumb, and not a major concern for most people, but something I ran into and thought I'd throw out there just in case. And yes, of course you could always pour the whole thing out and determine it that way, or use a scale maybe, but who has the time? A little bit pricey for a noob like me, but I think a good starting place if you're looking to try something and aren't ready to buy 5 metric tons of powder at Costco.

PRICE: These drinks are absolutely delicious and at a friendly price. I recently saw a 4-pack of them at Walmart for $8.99 ($2.25 each)! I purchased these drinks at $18.76 for a pack of 12 ($1.56 each). Can't beat a deal as delicious as this one!TASTE: Usually, when I buy meal replacement/protein shakes, I go for chocolate. I was unsure about getting the trio pack with the Vanilla and Cappuccino, but I am SO glad I did. The Cappuccino is by far my favorite flavor to date. It is perfect in the morning to grab as I run out the door for work (which is perfect because I mostly use these for breakfast). These have a very smooth texture unlike when you use protein powder and get that chalky feeling. The protein in this drink keeps me full all morning. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the flavors, but next time I will stick with my new favorite flavor!INGREDIENTS: One thing that drew me to this product is its organic nature and low sugar count. Each drink contains 11 grams of protein and ONLY 6 GRAMS OF SUGAR! Even though these are sufficiently sweet, it does not show in the calorie or sugar content due to the Organic Stevia used rather than aspartame or harsh chemical sweeteners. With only 180 calories each, this drink fills you up in the morning without all of the excessive calories of other protein drinks.PACKAGING: I often find that purchases on Amazon arrive in an overly large packaging. Having said that, these arrived in a box perfectly sized for 12 drinks. They didn't rattle around and there wasn't excessive packaging. Each drink is packaged in a Tetra Pak with aSHIPPING: Arrived from Amazon in 3 days just as they promised!Overall, once I complete this pack, I will come back for more!

I don't really care much about soy juice (Lewis Black, anyone?), but this ain't bad, really. I prefer milk 100% of the time, but milk needs refrigeration and is harder to transport. I purchased these as a replacement for Slim Fast because those weren't available at the local store, as they had run out and don't appear to be in the mood to restock (it's also easier to just have a couple boxes shipped, instead of needing to ride my bike with innumerable liquids sloshing about). I'm in college and on a budget, and these are a little more than twice the Slim Fast price per bottle. But, at barely over a dollar each, these are far more filling and healthy than, say, a can of soda, and still considered affordable. If the cappuccino had caffeine, that would be great, otherwise, I could do without that flavor, as I'm not much of a coffee drinker. I definitely prefer the vanilla, and would love a strawberry. But I'll take what I can get.I normally pair it with a Chocolate Mint Clif bar or Nature Valley Protein bar for an in-between-class snack to help keep me going for the remainder of the day, and I've never felt hungry or unsatisfied. No need to refrigerate, but by all means, do so if you desire. Mix them with some fruits and yogurt for a heavier morning smoothie, or add it to cereal. Really, your only limitations are based on imagination.

I drink nuritional shakes for a medical condition when I can’t eat solid foods and to keep up my nutrients so I switch between Vega One and Svelte. I love Svelte because of the convenience of it being pre-made and needing to refrigerated only after opening which makes going out easier. I also love the different flavors they offer and the fact that they created a variety pack. They all taste delicious. The first time I heard of this brand was right after a procedure and I couldn’t eat or drink anything due to the pain. For some strange reason I was only able to tolerate Svelte so that’s pretty much all I had for a day and a half. It was a life savor.Because it worked out so well after my procedure I ordered the variety pack not too long ago and had no issue what so ever. All the flavors tasted great and I had no reactions.However, I checked back now and see that the price went up from $26.92 to $44.59 since my previous order?! I added a screen shot of that order. Because of this price change I am now unable to afford this product. That’s a huge disappointment. I’m not sure what prompted this but I hope it changes back soon.
