This is literally the best headset for the price on Amazon right now.
It's so great I bought two. Planning to buy another for the hell of it.I have several headsets and microphones. From a Gamecom 780 to standalone desktop table microphones along with Audio Technica headphones. But nothing beats the voice clarity, and the comfort of this headset. It literally IS noise-canceling. I had my family playing karaoke and movies in the background and the background sound of that was lowered to my friend, whom I was playing games with online, making my voice clear and hearable. The sound is enough for casual music listening. I'm no audiophile but owning several audio technicas and jvcs and kosses, this seems to be pretty damn good. As for how it feels like on your head? If you've ever owned koss portapros, just imagine that, but more lighter and not-so tight hugging.Overall the best con for me is the mic and price on this thing. it's like plantronic's best product right now.PROS:- Mic sounds amazing *- Lightweight, comfortable as hell- Plug and play, none of that bs driver unless you want to be able to end/answer calls with the button on the headset cord- Sounds great- Skype certified ( I believe this is when Plantronics hires skype to do testing on their product, and if it works well and is clear, it gets a skype certification )- It's so great that according to reviews some electronic stores are using this among employees to communicateCONS:- Seems very flimsy. I have been using it for a year though, and dropped it about 4x a week. Nothing has broke it. So it's pretty durable.- This is not related to this product, but this goes for 50 dollars at local stores for some reason, while its 25 online. Weird.- That's it. This is great.Hell i'm going to pick up another one later for back-ups.

This headset can't be any good. " Well I was way off base
I got this headset as a replacement to my Logitech headset. The Logitech headset had to be replaced twice within 6 months. Although it seemed to be a well put together headset it failed and after 3 months each had to be replaced due to wiring, mic echo and constantly disconnecting from the computer. When the Plantronics headse arrived I looked at it and said "no way..This headset can't be any good." Well I was way off base. Although not as solidly built as the Logitech once I plugged it into the usb port and started to use it people could clearly hear the difference. Less background noise, hasn't disconnected and has worked with all software I use. I do telephone lead generation and marketing so It's in use all day. So far no problems whatsoever. It fits my big head and is very comfortable. It has volume controls and mute button right inline within easy reach. You can even make Skype calls with the touch of one of the buttons. I haven't used that feature yet but it's there.I would definitely recommend the headset to anyone looking for a good headset at a very good price. Oh yeah...It came a couple days early too and I didn't pay for faster shipping...Grab this headset - you won't be disappointed.....works well with the games I've played also.....decent sound for the price.

Plantronics .Audio 478 Stereo USB Headset Review
If you're looking for a decent headset at a good price then pick up the Plantronics .Audio 478 Stereo USB Headset. I purchased these because the listing said they would be compatible with Dragon Naturally Speaking, and sure enough there were no problems using the two together. This headset is great for gamers or Skype users too. I've used it for gmaing chat and Skype with no complaints from people on the other end. They are incredibly lightweight and sit comfortably on your head. One thing I was searching for in a headset was a wider headband at top instead of one thin strip. Since I'm bald, headsets with only one of the thin bands sitting atop my can get uncomfartable. This Plantronics set has two bands of decent width which makes my bald head happy.Everyone in my household uses my headset. It adjusts easily to fit almost any size head. Keep in mind nobody in my home has overly large or freakishly small heads. They do however, go from my adult head down to my 8 year old without any problems. Okay, maybe my head might be a bit freakishly big, but the headset still fits just fine.I don't like a lot of things on my desk cluttering up my life so the ability to fold them up and tuck them away in their own little niche beside my desk is also a plus. At the time of purchase I didn't care about the folding perk, but it is something that just worked out to my benefit. I wouldn't let it sway my purchase decision one way or the other though. It was fairly easy to set up on my Windows 7 machine with the USB plug and play deal. The headset also worked instantly on my Ubuntu machine. One thing I would recommend to those of you who intend on purcahsing this headset is to get the windscreen to go with it at the time of purchase. It makes the recordings sound more crisp. In making instructional videos I've learned windscreens are your friend, no matter which headset or mic you're using.

Lightweight, quality headset. Great for Vo-IP calls.
Exactly what I was looking for. I work from home and make calls all day. My previous headset was a Logitech Stereo Headset H250 - Graphite (981-000353) which held up great for 2 years. I literally used this thing 5 days a week for 2 years and had zero problems with it until recently.I found that I wanted a similar product that has the foam style earpads rather than "leather" ones. I came across the Plantronics headset here and decided to take a chance.I absolutely love them. The are light, comfortable, and work perfectly. USB works very well (Logitech used A/V green/pink plugs).Call quality over Google Voice has been perfect, absolutely no issues whatsoever throughout my daily use. Volume adjustment buttons on the cable are fine, although I don't use the "call answer" button (for Skype).I also like how these fold up easily and take up less room than my previous Logitech headset. Comfortable to wear all day in my opinion. Highly recommended.

Clear calling...
My company has upgraded our systems and made Skype for Business available as part of the carbon footprint objectives, meaning that a headset was needed. I need to be able to carry it with me so the folding design was what drew me to this product. Very simple to set up and use, with the added benefit of the inline controls, and is supplied with a soft bag to keep them in when not being used. The sounds quality is good enough to listen to videos on the internet and is acceptable for music. People on the calls have confirmed that the sound level and quality is good with limited background noise. Have shown them to others in the company who have expressed interest.

Quality Lightweight and superior Performance
The starting point and main criteria with these headphones has to be the quality of the sound. I have bought these for speech on teleconferences using my laptop, but definitely consider them good enough to listen to music at higher than Cd quality. They really have good reproduction and you can pick out the different instruments with remarkable clarity for a budget pair of phones like this.Other points: Quick and easy to get working, virtually plug and play (wait for Windows to find and load the driver). Lightweight, very comfortable. They fold to a small size and the earpieces rotate to fold flat and fit in the storage bag (supplied). The earpieces have a metal surface and look good quality, shiny things. The top switch integrates with Skype so you can accept a call without reaching out for the keyboard of your computer. I nearly went for the Sennheiser at similar price point but I am well pleased with these and would recommend them 100%.

Solid noise cancelling mic from a very economic headset
Solid construction although of light plastic construction material. I have used several of Plantronics products over my time and they are long-lasting and reliable. The set fits well on the head and the mic boom swings both ways allowing it to be on either ear. There is a small bag within the package to store the collapsible headset, but of cheap quality -expected at this price range- but of not any real value to me to consider as a negative point. The headset was purchased for tackling the noise levels outside by office window being picked up by the webcam mic during Skype calls. To be honest I was not expecting much from a product on this price range, but I was proven wrong. My usual Skype call mates made a comment on the good quality sound, absence of echo and almost extinct noise the first time I used it. Once more, well done, Plantronics!

light, foldable and functional
The headset is light, foldable and functional. It's just what I expected.Works well enough (at least as well as the old plantronics headset I had - meaning the volume buttons don't work, etc on Linux).Probably works 100% on Windows and with some messing around, I'm sure I can get it all working on Linux but this is not a review about Operating Systems.
