Works but it has a small problem.
This product came fast to my house and I immediately installed it on my previously internet-less new Desktop PC. I worked great. It was a shame that it feels loose in any USB slot. I'm almost afraid of touching it like its going to cut off my Internet if I do. It's just so flimsily plugged in. Besides that. The signal reaches perfectly across 40 ft. to my router. That doesn't sound like anything special but I know it can reach farther and that will come in handy when I take this with me to college. It came cheap and it works brilliantly. I DO have a small network problem only with this card though. Whenever I turn on my computer the wireless card automatically connects to a network called "Virtual Profile." This network doesn't exist on any other wireless card but somehow I can get internet from it? I have to manually disconnect from this network every time I boot up and switch to my home network. It's a small bug that I've spent hours and hours looking for a cure. I haven't found one, but it's no big deal. I never loose internet. The card works great. Enjoy!

Not exactly Plug N PLay but still worth it
I got this because I have a 10+ old EMachine that's been sitting in my closet. I decided I wanted to drag it out to let my 4 yr & 5 yr olds use for educational video games etc.- Not exactly Plun N Play -- but I don't think that's the adpater's issue -- the older computer doesn't have wireless built in. It's running on XP. I Think the OS and the CD Rom are glitchy. The CD rom didn't recognize the installation disc. I had to burn the disc onto a flash drive from a different (newer) computer in order to get the older PC to recognise that I had software to process. Then when I attempted to use the press n play locator on my current (major DSL provider stock router) it didn't finish the locating process in time so I had to manually enter my passcode to get internet access.Overall, the item itself is functional. The problems I had were probably isolated to my individual old PC that I wanted to use with it. After I made it through my own obstacle I was able to get it to link to my generic wireless router, I didn't need a matching name brand router as I have needed in the past with other equipment.

Download the drivers first!
I got this because I wanted something cheap and reliable for my desktop computer that I don't play MMO's on. After testing the speeds on this little stick I actually could game online quite well, which was surprising.Literally it does everything I need from some online gaming to watching some videos, Netflix etc. My only issue was I have a Windows 7 computer and this was made for XP / Vista. The discs included will not help if tutu have Windows 7. I had to get the drivers for this by downloading them onto my phone and plugging my phone into the computer and installing it that way. Next time I'll leave the computer hardlined and download drivers before I move it. Instantly installed and worked great. Lastly, if you get the drivers from the internet, don't plug the adapter in until they are installed or the installation will not complete. It will freeze.

Product is broken, manufactured in 2009, and Technical Support is terrible
I bought two of these wireless USB adapters and it was one of the worst decisions of my life. Both of them have terrible connectivity problems, constantly drop from the network, do not automatically connect when the computer boots up, and the driver software is terribly outdated. Let me start from the beginning, using Windows 7 for all this.I began this adventure using the driver software contained on the CD's that came with the adapters. The software did not detect the device... so I figured hmm must be outdated. Went online and grabbed the latest version, have no problem detecting the device - I'll be online soon! Select my WiFi network and enter my credentials... doesn't connect. Weird. I look down at the wireless icon and my WiFi network isn't there.. hmm. Reinstall driver software, now my network is showing up again! Yes! I'll be online soon. Connect to my WiFi network... 10 minutes go by and it drops connection. Restart computer, unplug device, restart router, nothing is working.Fine.. I'll give in to tech support. Call tech support and they inform me that my device has been manufactured in 2009. That is pretty old for something I just bought, but that's fine - at least I have tech support. I'll be online soon! Tech support goes on to inform me that I need to send a proof of purchase to them since my device is so old. Oh and it'll take 24 hours to verify that proof of purchase. I protest a bit saying I could have had tech support in all this time you spent explaining to me I needed a proof of purchase, but I send the e-mail and wait 3 days. 3 days go by, I call in again - they haven't received my email... great. I protest again and ask to please please give me tech support.. I've been waiting for days. Mindless tech support is mindless... tells me I need to send the e-mail again this time with a case number.Day 4: Still no internet. Still no tech support. Save yourself - spend a couple more bucks on a different device.

This is the only USB wireless USB adapter I found that is compatible with old laptops that only have USB 1.1. The price is rightand it works great.

Pretty good
This adapter was 20 feet away from my modem and in another room. Had a moderate signal and good watch videos without any trouble. It is great for the value.
